Union Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore launches National Youth Parliament Festival 2019

Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Col Rajyavardhan Rathore launched the National Youth Parliament Festival 2019 at a function in New Delhi. The festival will continue till 24th of next month.


National Youth Parliament Festival 2019 is organised on the theme of “Be The Voice of New India” and “Find solutions and contribute to policy”. Youth in the age bracket of 18-25 years are invited to participate in the District Youth Parliaments.


Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports proposes to take the Youth Festival to each district of the country and celebrate it as the “National Youth Parliament Festival”. Organising District Youth Parliaments and taking the festival to the doorsteps of the youth would provide an opportunity to large number of youth of this country to participate.

Giving details of the festival, Secretary,Youth Affairs and Sports ,Upama Chawdhry said, a maximum of 50 best speakers from the digital screening and 50 best speakers from walk in process will be shortlisted by the screening committee to participate in the District Youth Parliament.

The best three speakers selected by a Jury from each District Youth Parliament will participate at the State Youth Parliament. Similarly, the two best speakers selected from each State Youth Parliament will participate as speakers in the National Youth Parliament.......Read More


2+2 Inter-Sessional meeting between India and US held in New Delhi

2+2 Inter-Sessional meeting between the United States and India took place in New Delhi, focusing on the progress of defence and foreign policy issues between the two countries.

The Indian delegation was led jointly by Joint Secretary (AMS) from the Ministry of External Affairs Gourangalal Das, and Joint Secretary (PIC) from the Ministry of Defence, Shambhu S Kumaran.

The US delegation was led jointly by Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Alice Wells and Assistant Secretary of Defence Randall Schriver.

Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik launched a new scheme ‘Ama Ghare LED’ to distribute free led bulbs

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the ‘Ama Ghare LED’ scheme, under which about 95 lakh families in the State will each get four LED Bulbs free of cost.


The ‘Ama Ghare LED’ scheme provide LED bulbs (9-watt each) will be distributed to the beneficiaries registered under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and the State Food Security Scheme (SFSC).

The ‘Ama Ghare LED’ project, which requires about 3.8 crore LED bulbs for distribution purpose.

The scheme will be implemented by Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) and the bulbs will be distributed through camps.........Read More

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has slaps a penalty of Rs 3 crore on Citibank India for not complying with directions regarding the 'fit-and-proper criteria' for directors of the bank.


Citibank has been accused of deficiencies in regulatory compliance and of directions regarding the ‘fit-and-proper criteria’ for directors of the bank.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has, by an order dated January 4, 2019, imposed a monetary penalty of Rs 30 million on Citibank India for deficiencies in compliance with the RBI instructions on 'Fit and Proper' criteria for directors of banks........Read More


Yes Bank appoints Brahm Dutt as non-executive part-time chairman

Yes Bank, India’s fourth-largest private sector bank, announced the appointment of Brahm Dutt as non-executive part-time chairman.

Yes bank in its report,told that RBI following the law of Banking regulation Act 1949 has approved Dutt’s appointment as part-time chairman of Yes Bank’s board up till July 4, 2020.


Brahm Dutt has been on Yes Bank’s board since July 2013 as an independent director, and contributed to almost all the sub-committees of the board over the past five and a half years.
