FIH Series Finals: Indian women's hockey team beats Japan in final match

Indian Women’s Hockey team won the FIH (Fédération Internationale de Hockey) Women’s Series Finals Hiroshima 2019 after beating hosts Japan 3-1 in the finals match held at the Hiroshima Hockey Stadium, Japan.

Indian team Captain Rani Rampal scored the first goal in the 3rd minute but Japan's Kanon Mori equalised in the 11th minute.

Indian Gurjit Kaur scored in the 45th and 60th minutes to lead India to an emphatic victory.

Rani Rampal was the best player of the tournament and Gurjit Kaur emerged as the top-scorer.

The world number nine Indian team had already qualified for the FIH Olympic Qualifiers 2019 after securing a place in the final of the competition.
