1. GST rate on all Electric Vehicles reduced from 12% to 5% and of charger or charging stations for EVs from 18% to 5%

The 36th GST Council Meeting was held in New Delhi, Via Video Conference under the chairmanship of Union Finance & Corporate Affairs Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman.
The GST rate on all electric vehicles be reduced from 12% to 5%.
The GST rate on charger or charging stations for Electric vehicles be reduced from 18% to 5%.

2. Senior Congress leader Jaipal Reddy passes away at 77

Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader S. Jaipal Reddy passed away in Hyderabad. He was 77.
Reddy was admitted to the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology in Gachibowli with a high fever a few days back.

3. Union HRD Minister inaugurates the new building of National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE)

Union Minister of Human Resource Development Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ inaugurated the new office building of National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) in the national capital New Delhi.
The state-of-the-art,four-storied office building is situated in Sector 10 at Dwarka, New Delhi.The Minister took the Delhi Airport Metro Line from Shivaji Stadium to reach the venue for the inaugural ceremony.

4. 7th Economic Census to be launched in Tripura

The fieldwork of 7th Economic Census (EC) is being launched in the States of Tripura on 29th July 2019, and in Puducherry soon after.
The fieldwork in other State/ UTs will be launched in August/ September, 2019.
The enumerators and supervisors engaged by CSC have been trained to collect data on mobile application developed for data capture, validation, report generation and dissemination.

WhatsApp has crossed more than 400 million monthly active users in India. The stats were revealed by Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant at an event in New Delhi.

6. Reliance Jio becomes largest telecom operator in India

Within three years of starting its commercial operations, Reliance Jio has become the country's largest telecom operator with a subscriber base of 331.3 million, surpassing Vodafone Idea, reported a decline in its user base to 320 million by June 2019.
Reliance Jio has surpassed Vodafone-Idea in terms of the number of subscribers in India, based on second quarter figures released individually by both telecom operators.
