Henley Passport Index 2019: India slips 5 spots, check here other countries ranked

Henley Passport Index for the year 2019 was released. According to the latest report ranks India at 86th position of 189 countries in 2019 with a mobility score of 58.

However, it slipped 5 places from 81st place in its previous index. In the last decade, only eight nations granted visa-free-access to Indian nationals.

 The report was topped by Japan and Singapore as the “world’s most powerful passport” in 2019.
 Japan topped the list for the second consecutive time in a row 189 countries.

Henley Passport Index 2019: Mobility score 

Mobility score mainly states that the no. of countries a person can visit without visa restrictions. India denotes that a person can access 58 countries to which holders are eligible to travel without a visa in prior.

2+2 US-India Maritime Security Dialogue held in California

The 2+2 United States-India Maritime Security Dialogue was held in California, USA. The two countries will discuss maritime developments in the Indo-Pacific and the strengthening of bilateral maritime security cooperation.

The Indian delegation was led jointly by Gourangalal Das, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs and V. Anandarajan, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Defence while the U.S. delegation was led jointly by Ambassador Alice Wells, Acting Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs and Mr. Randall Schriver, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs.

Serbia becomes 73rd non-regional member of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB)

Serbia has officially become the 73rd non-regional member of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).

The Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali of Serbia, announced membership with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank(AIIB).

Serbia officially becomes the 73rd non-regional member of the AIIB after completing all procedures and met all the conditions for membership after passing a bill on approval of the AIIB Articles of Agreement and depositing the Instrument of Accession and the first capital installment with the bank.


Euromoney magazine names DBS as the ‘World’s Best Bank’

Euromoney’ Magazine has named DBS bank as the ‘World’s Best Bank’. DBS has become the first bank to concurrently hold three global best bank awards.

This was achieved after DBS was named "World's Best Bank" by leading global financial publication Euromoney in its 2019 Awards for Excellence.


Previously the bank's wins of Global Finance's "Best Bank in the World" in August 2018 and The Banker's "Bank of the Year - Global" in November 2018.
