Vice President Venkaiah Naidu presents 28th Saraswati Samman to Telugu poet K Siva Reddy

The Vice President, M. Venkaiah Naidu has honored the Telugu litterateur Dr. K Siva Reddy with the 28th Saraswati Samman 2018 for the creation of his famous poetry collection ‘Pakkaki Ottigilite’ (Turning aside while lying down).

 28th Saraswati Samman presentation ceremony organized by the KK Birla Foundation in New Delhi.

The award, instituted by the KK Birla Foundation, is given annually for an outstanding literary work written in any official Indian languages and published during the preceding 10 years.

Pakkaki Ottigilite, published in 2016, is an anthology of 104 poems in blank verse. It captures the responses of the poet over the years to social change, the evolution of his own self and his dynamic relationship with the world.

About Saraswati Samman:

The Saraswati Samman is an annual award for outstanding prose or poetry literary works in any of the 22 languages of India listed in Schedule VIII of the Constitution of India.

 The Saraswati Samman was instituted in 1991 by the K. K. Birla Foundation. It consists of Rs 15 lakh, a citation and a plaque.

7th World Hindu Economic Forum (WHEF) 2019 held in Mumbai, Maharashtra


 The 7th annual Economic Forum comes forward with the theme of ‘Prosperous Society: Stronger Society’.
 The Forum also aims at creating awareness among the Hindu business community to boost the economy and prosperity.

The event witnessed the keynote speeches of UP (Uttar Pradesh) Chief Minister Adityanath & and Maharashtra chief minister,Devendra Fadnavis in the presence of forefront industry leaders including Piramal Group’s chairman Ajay Piramal, and senior executives from Lockheed Martin US (United States), Tata Sons’ defence business and Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Indian Space Research Organisation Chairperson AS Kiran Kumar, State Bank of India (SBI) Chairperson Rajnish Kumar.
One of the reasons to organize the event in Mumbai is that being the capital of Maharashtra state and the financial capital of Bharat, has an estimated GDP of $210 billion. It contributes more than 6% of Bharat’s GDP, 60% of the country’s customs duty collections and 30% of income tax collections. This makes Mumbai an ideal destination to host the annual WHEF conference given the immense business opportunities across all industries for participants.
