Indian Naval Ships Visit to Sihanoukville, Cambodia

As part of Indian Navy's Overseas Deployment to South East Asia and Western Pacific, Indian Navy ships Sahyadri and Kiltan are making a port call at Sihanoukville, Cambodia from 05 – 08 Sep 19. 

The ships are part of the Indian Navy's Eastern Fleet under the Operational Command of Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, based at Visakhapatnam. The port call is a demonstration of India's warm ties with Cambodia.

IN Ships Sahyadri, under the command of Capt Ashwin Arvindand Kiltan, under the command of Cdr Ginto George Chacko, are the latest, indigenously designed and built multi-role Guided Missile Stealth Frigate and Anti-Submarine Warfare Corvette respectively.

The two ships are equipped with a versatile array of weapons and sensors, can carry multi-role helicopters and represent the ‘coming of age’ of India’s warship building capabilities.

The visit of the IN ships would further bolster the strong bonds of friendship between the two countries and contribute to the security and stability in the region........Read More


Exercise TSENTR 2019: India To Participate in Multi-Nation Military Exercise in Russia

Exercise TSENTR 2019 is part of the annual series of large scale exercises that form part of the Russian Armed Forces' annual training cycle.

This year the exercise is planned between 09 September to 23 September 19 at Donguz training ranges, Orenburg, Russia.

This year’s Exercise TSENTR 2019 will be conducted by the Central Military Commission of Russia. Apart from host Russia, military contingents from China, India, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan will also take part in this mega event.

The exercise aims at evolving drills of the participating armies and practicing them in the fight against the scourge of international terrorism thereby ensuring military security in the strategic central Asian region.

The TSENTR-2019 strategic measures will focus on evaluating the level of troop preparedness, the acquisition of the required skills and raising the level of inter- operability and demonstrate the readiness of the participating armies.

The exercise TSENTR 2019 will comprise two modules. The first module will include counter- terror operations, repelling air strikes, reconnaissance operations and defensive measures, while the second will focus on offensive operations........Read More


INS Tarkash visit at Lagos, Nigeria

As part of Indian Navy's Overseas Deployment to Africa, Europe and Russia, Indian Naval Ship Tarkash made a port visit at Lagos, Nigeria, on 05 Sep 19 for a three day visit.

The port call has been scheduled to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Nigeria.


INS Tarkash, commanded by Captain Sathish Vasudev, is one of the most potent frontline frigates of the Indian Navy equipped with a versatile range of weapons and sensors.

The ship is part of the Indian Navy's Western Fleet and under the Operational Command of Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command, based at Mumbai.

Nigeria and India have traditionally enjoyed warm and friendly relations, sharing common values of democracy, development and secularism. A number of bilateral arrangements for defence co-operation and cultural exchange exists between the two countries.

The Indian Armed Forces also conduct various training courses for personnel of the Nigerian Armed Forces at Defence Training Institutions in India.
