10th edition of Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav to be held in Jabalpur from October 14-21
10th edition of Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav: The Governor of Madhya Pradesh Lalji Tandon, in the presence of Minister of State for Culture and Tourism Prahlad Singh Patel, will inaugurate the 10th Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav on 14th October at Mahakoshal Shaheed trust, Gol Bazaar in the city of Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh.
Ministry of Culture of the central government is organising the 10th edition of Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav under the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat initiative in Madhya Pradesh from October 14 to 21.
Renowned artists like Suresh Wadkar, Pandit Wishwa Mohan Bhatt, Sabri Brothers from Jaipur, Shovna Narayan, Roopkumarand Sonali Rathore, Saroja Vaidyanathan, Vikku Vinayaka Ram, Dr Satinder Sartaj, Anuradha Pal, Geeta Mahalik, RonuMajumdar, Preeti Patel , Malini Awasthi, Tanushree Shankar and Anuradha Paudwal and many more will be part of this major festival.
Local artists under the theme of Mati Ke Lal are also invited to perform on the main stage. The Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav 2019 would showcase all the facets of Indian Culture in different areas and aspects including Artists and Artisans from States/UT's like Assam, Karnataka, Haryana, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Manipur, Kerala, Jammu and Kashmir, Leh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab and West Bengal etc will showcase India’s cultural heritage through performances of Arts, Folk Music, Dance, Handicrafts and Cuisines.
Being the flagship and premier festival of Ministry of Culture, Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav was conceived in the year 2015 and after the grand success of the First Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav in November-2015, the Ministry of Culture decided to organize it with an intent to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Country in all its rich and varied dimensions, viz Handicrafts, Cuisine, Painting, Sculpture and Performing Arts-Folk, Tribal, Classical and Contemporary- all in one place.

First ever India International Cooperatives Trade Fair begins underway in New Delhi
The first ever India International Cooperatives Trade Fair (IICTF) begins underway in New Delhi. The three day Fair is a major platform to promote export of products of cooperatives which will lead to enhanced rural and farm prosperity. Organisations from 36 countries are participating in the Fair.
At the 3 day IICTF 75 MoUs were signed. Thematic sessions were held on Globalisation of Cooperative Trade, Cooperative Banking and Financial Inclusion, Empowerment of Youth and Women through Cooperatives, Agro-processing Ecosystem through Cooperatives, Agri-Tech and Climate Smart Agriculture through cooperatives, Cooperatives as Cost Effective and Efficient Service providers, Big Data and Cyber Security in Cooperative Sector, Dairy Cooperative Opportunities for Value Addition and Trade and Farm Mechanisation and Inputs Supply- Role of Cooperatives.
In line with Government’s focus on programmes like Start-up India and Stand-up India aimed at young entrepreneurs with new and innovative ideas, National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) has formulated Yuva Sahakar- Cooperative Enterprise Support and Innovation Scheme 2019 which was also launched at the fair. Sahakar Bharati, the single largest organisation focusing on enlightening masses about the benefit of cooperative movement also show cased and launched their brand ‘Simplydesi’ which will provide good marketing and branding opportunities for cooperatives.
Nitin Gadkari to Inaugurate Conference on One Nation One Fastag
Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises will inaugurate a conference on One Nation One FASTag in New Delhi on 14th October 2019.
The conference will see the signing of MoUs with state departments / other agencies for bringing in a unified electronic tolling solution across the country. This would mean enabling the use of the same FASTag affixed on the windscreen of a vehicle at every toll plaza in the country under jurisdiction of different states /agencies and other entities. This will help provide seamless services to consumers across the country.
Another MoU will be signed tomorrow, between the Indian Highways Management Company Ltd. (IHMCL) and Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) for integration of FASTag with GST E- Way Bill System. The GST Council has already accorded ‘in-principle’ approval for this integration.

Simone Biles of US became the most decorated world championship gymnast in history, wins 2 more gold in the beam and floor category to take her overall world championship gold to 25.
Biles won her 25th medal at the gymnastics world championships and consequently broke the record for both men and women.
