India's top three cleanest railway stations are from Rajasthan: Railways Survey
Railway Minister Piyush Goyal released the ‘Stations’ Cleanliness Survey Report’ (Cleanliness assessment of Non-suburban and Suburban Stations 2019).
According to the Railway Survey, the top three cleanest railways stations are from the western state of Rajasthan.
Jaipur was on the first position, Jodhpur on second followed by Durgapura in third position.
North Western Railway followed by South East Central Railway and East Central Railway are the top three railway zones.
Railways have been conducting third party audit and cleanliness ranking of 407 major stations annually since 2016.
This year the survey was expanded to include 720 stations and suburban stations were also included for the first time.
Andheri, Virar and Naigaon railway stations were the top three among 109 suburban stations
Six stations in Rajasthan among top 10 in railway cleanliness survey, Jaipur (ranked no.1), Durgapura and Gandhinagar. The other three are Jodhpur (2), Udaipur (8) and Ajmer (9).
Among 109 suburban stations, Andheri station in Mumbai, and Virar and Naigaon stations on its outskirts were found to be the cleanest, according to the report released by railway minister Piyush Goyal. The other stations that found place in the top 10 were Jammu Tawi, Suratgarh, Vijaywada and Haridwar.
