Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates 5th India International Science Festival at Kolkata via video conferencing


 The theme of the festival “RISEN: Research, Innovation and Science Empowering the Nation” reflects the aspirations of 21st century India.

The prime objective of the festival is to instill scientific temper among people, showcase India’s contribution in the field of S&T and encourage translation of its benefits to people. It aims to build a strategy for inclusive advancement of Science and Technology.

The four-day science festival is being organized in Kolkata from November 5 to November 8, 2019. The prime objective of the festival is to instill scientific temper among the masses, showcase India’s contribution in the field of S&T over the years and encourage translation of its benefits to people. It aims to build a strategy for inclusive advancement of Science and Technology.

Ministry of Tourism participates in three day long World Travel Market (WTM) in London


Theme for India Pavilion at WTM 2019:

The theme for India Pavilion at WTM 2019 is ‘Incredible India – Find the Incredible India’. A total of 32 stakeholders, including State Governments, Union Territory Administrations, Air India, IRCTC, Hotels, Wellness resorts and tour operators are participating as co-exhibitors in the India Pavilion.

Activities: 

A number of activities including cultural programmes, Yoga demonstration, Henna Application, Indian Food tasting, Turban tying, Saree tying, etc. are being organised in the India Pavilion. Besides, showcasing India’s various tourism products, this year, the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and the Statue of Unity are also being promoted and publicized in the India Pavilion at WTM 2019.

Secretary of Union Ministry of Tourism Yogendra Tripathi is leading the official delegation at WTM 2019 which also includes Additional Director General (Tourism) Ms. Rupinder Brar. India Pavilion at WTM 2019 was inaugurated on 04th November 2019 by the Secretary (Tourism) and High Commissioner of India to the UK Ms. Ruchi Ghanashyam.

Rising Himachal 2019: Global Investors meet in Dharamshala


Commerce and Industry and Railway Minister, Piyush Goyal will attend the Rising Himachal Global Investors' Meet 2019 and inform about the investment and policies of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for promoting investment in Himachal Pradesh and the hill states of India.


Invest India, the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency, under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, is promoting Rising Himachal Summit through the India Investment Grid (IIG).

This event will showcase the policy and regulatory environment, investment opportunities in eight focus sectors to boost manufacturing and employment generation in the State.

Jitendra Singh inaugurates National Workshop on CPGRAMS Reforms organised by DARPG

The National Workshop on Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) Reforms, organized by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions in New Delhi.

During the event, Minister Dr Jitendra Singh launched the CPGRAMS reforms for Departments of Financial Services and Telecommunications (DoT).

He also launched the ‘Online Hackathon on Data-Driven Innovation for Citizen Grievance Redressal’. The Minister also inaugurated an exhibition on CPGRAMS.



International Conference on Soil and Water Resources Management for Climate Smart Agriculture and Global Food & Livelihood Security begins in New Delhi

Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) inaugurated the five day-long “International Conference on Soil and Water Resources Management for Climate Smart Agriculture and Global Food and Livelihood Security” at the National Agricultural Science Centre Complex in New Delhi.

The conference is being organized jointly by the Soil Conservation Society of India in association with World Association of Soil and Water Conservation (WASWAC), China and International Soil Conservation Organization (ISCO), U.S.A. with the objective to deliberate upon the various issues and challenges of soil and water conservation.
