1. 8th International Tourism Mart will be held from 23-25 November 2019 at Imphal, Manipur
  • The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in association with the North Eastern States is organising the “International Tourism Mart” (ITM) at Imphal, Manipur from 23 November to 25 November, 2019.
  • The event will be jointly inaugurated on 23rd November 2019 by Minister of State (I/C) for Culture & Tourism Prahlad Singh Patel and Chief Minister of Manipur N. Biren Singh. Secretary, Tourism Yogendra Tripathi and other dignitaries from Central Ministries and North Eastern States will remain present on the occasion.


2. Jan Jagrukta Abhiyaan on Dengue and Malaria in New Delhi
  • A mega awareness campaign (‘People’s Movement’) on Dengue and Malaria in Delhi from 17-19 July 2019 was conducted under the leadership of Hon’ble Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare involving People’s representatives and 286 teams comprising Senior officers and staff from the Health Ministry, all three Delhi Municipal Corporations and New Delhi Municipal Council.

  • Veteran actor and Shabana Azmi's mother Shaukat Kaifi passed away in Mumbai, due to age-related illness at the age of 93.


4. GeM Signs MoU With Government of NCT Delhi
  • Government e Marketplace (GeM) has entered into an MoU with the Government of National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi, in order to facilitate buyer organizations of Delhi towards a market-based procurement.
  • The MoU will further expedite the harmonisation of the procurement guidelines of the two entities and integration of the systems, enabling seamless procuring experience.


5. HRD Minister holds bilateral talks with Minister for Education of Australia in New Delhi
  • Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ held bilateral talks with Minister for Education of Australia Dan Tehan to exchange views on future bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of education in New Delhi.
  • Union HRD Minister also participates in 5th Australia-India Ministerial Dialogue on Education Cooperation.


6. 19th Session of the India-Finland Joint Commission concludes
  • The 19th Session of the India-Finland Joint Commission was held in New Delhi on 20th – 21st November, 2019. The Technical Session was held on 20th November, 2019 and the Joint Commission Session on 21st November, 2019.
  • This year marks the 70th anniversary of India – Finland diplomatic relations. Both India and Finland cooperate on a wide array of issues and as a member of EU, Finland regards India as a strategic partner for balanced and comprehensive trade relations.


7. India and Finland sign an MoU for strengthening cooperation in the field of Tourism
  • India and Finland sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for strengthening cooperation in the field of Tourism.
  • The MOU was signed by Prahlad Singh Patel, Minister for Culture and Tourism (Independent Charge), Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and Minister for Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, Government of Finland Mr Timo Harakka.
