1. Four-Day ‘Destination North East’ Festival concludes in Varanasi
  • The Four-day ‘Destination North East’ festival organised by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Government of India concluded in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
  • The festival was organised in Varanasi for the first time.
  • The 4-day event from 23rd to 26th November 2019 held at IIT BHU grounds, Varanasi, all the eight North Eastern States participated in the event along with their respective handicrafts, handloom, organic products and cultural troupes.


2. 7th edition of India-Sri Lanka joint training Exercise MITRA SHAKTI 2019 will be held in Pune from 01 - 14 December
  • The seventh edition of India-Sri Lanka joint training exercise, Exercise MITRA SHAKTI– 2019 is scheduled to be conducted at Foreign Training Node (FTN), Pune from 01 - 14 December 2019. The sixth edition of the exercise was held in Sri Lanka.
  • The aim of this joint training exercise is to build and promote positive relations between armies of India and Sri Lanka with focus on sub unit level training for counter insurgency & counter terrorism operations in urban and rural environment under United Nations mandate.

  • Ambassador of Japan, Mr Satoshi Suzuki and Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Marjan Cencen, presented their credentials to the President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, at a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.


4. Cabinet approves Post Facto the Agreement on establishment of Strategic Partnership Council between India and Saudi Arabia
  • The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved Post Facto the Agreement signed by the Prime Minister on 29th October, 2019 for establishment of Strategic Partnership Council between India and Saudi Arabia.


5. Cabinet approves MoU signed between India and Myanmar for Prevention of Trafficking in Persons
  • The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given approval for the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Myanmar on bilateral cooperation for Prevention of Trafficking in Persons; Rescue, Recovery, Repatriation and Reintegration of victims of Trafficking.


6. Cabinet approves MoUs signed between India and Saudi Arabia in the field of combating illicit trafficking and smuggling of Narcotic Drugs
  • The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given ex-post facto approval for the MoUs between India and Saudi Arabia in the field of combating illicit trafficking and smuggling of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Chemical Precursors.


7. Cabinet approves Agreement and Protocol between India and Chile for the avoidance of double taxation
  • The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the signing of the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA) and Protocol between the Republic of India and the Republic of Chile for the elimination of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion and avoidance with respect to taxes on income.


8. Nitin Gadkari inaugurates NuGen Mobility Summit-2019
  • Union Minister of Road Transport and Shipping, Nitin Gadkari inaugurated NuGen Mobility Summit-2019 today at International Center of Automotive Technology (ICAT), Manesar in Haryana.


9. Center approves 3.31 lakh more houses under PMAY(U)
  • The 49th Meeting of the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (CSMC) under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), held in New Delhi, approved 606 proposals from participating States for the construction of 3,31,075 houses with an overall investment of Rs 15,125 Cr involving central assistance of Rs 5,092 Cr.
  • This includes six Light Houses Projects (LHPs) for construction of 6368 houses to be built across 6 States namely Gujarat (1,144), Jharkhand (1,008), Madhya Pradesh (1,024), Tamil Nadu (1,152), Tripura (1,000 ) and Uttar Pradesh (1040).
