1. 2nd edition of the Indo - Russian Tri - Services Exercise INDRA - 2019 held in Goa
  • The second edition of the tri-services exercise INDRA - 2019, between the Indian and Russian Armed Forces held in Goa. The Naval component of the exercise would be conducted off Goa from 10 to 19 Dec 19.
  • The Russian Federation Navy (RuFN) Ships Yaroslav Mudry, Viktor Konetsky and Elyna arrived at Goa on 10 Dec 19 to participate in Indo - Russian Tri - Services Exercise INDRA - 2019.


2. Minister Piyush Goyal meets Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry in New Delhi
  • Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal and the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Government of Japan, Hiroshi Kajiyama met in new Delhi prior to the meeting between Prime Minister of India and the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe in Guwahati on December 16, 2019.
  • Bilateral issues between India and Japan were discussed in the hour long meeting and Commerce and Industry Minister raised the issue of trade deficit between India and Japan and the review of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the two countries.


3. 4th edition of International Seminar cum Exhibition on Naval Weapon Systems ‘NAVARMS-19’ held in New Delhi
  • The fourth edition of International Seminar cum Exhibition on Naval Weapon Systems ‘NAVARMS-19’ with the theme “Make in India - Fight Category: Opportunities and Imperatives” is scheduled at Institute for Defence Studies and Analysis, Development Enclave, New Delhi on 12-13 Dec 19.
  • The two day event spread over five plenary sessions will provide an opportunity for exchange of ideas, create awareness and identify emerging prospects for Indian/International defence industry in the domain of Naval Weapon Systems.


4. J&K Lt Governor Girish Chandra Murmu inaugurates 72-metre all weather bridge in Rajouri
  • Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Girish Chandra Murmu dedicated the 72-metre-long Multi Cell Box Type Load Class 70 bridge to the Nation in Rajouri.
  • The bridge spans over Draj nallah and connected Draj Area to Tehsil Kotranka area under District Rajouri.
  • Lt Governor praised Border Roads Organisation (BRO) for their dedication and nation building through infrastructure development and war preparedness through construction of roads, bridges and tunnels.


5. 3rd India-Australia Secretary-level 2+2 Dialogue was held in New Delhi
  • The third India-Australia Secretary-level 2+2 Dialogue was held in New Delhi. The Indian delegation was led by Defence Secretary Dr Ajay Kumar and Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale, while the Australian side was led by Defence Secretary Mr Greg Moriarty and Foreign Secretary Ms Frances Adamson.


6. Bangladesh Navy Chief Aurangzeb Chaudhary on official visit to India
  • Admiral Aurangzeb Chowdhury, Chief of Naval Staff Bangladesh Navy is on an official visit to India from 07 – 12 Dec 19.
  • The visit aims to consolidate bilateral relations between India and Bangladesh, as also to explore new avenues for naval cooperation.
