1. Amit Shah inaugurates two-day BIMSTEC 'Conference on Combating Drug Trafficking', in New Delhi
  • The Union Minister for Home Affairs Amit Shah inaugurated the two-day BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation) 'Conference on Combating Drug Trafficking', in New Delhi.


2. Arvind Kejriwal took oath as Delhi Chief Minister for the third time
  • AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal took oath as Delhi Chief Minister for the third time on Sunday. Aam Aadmi Party winning 62 out of 70 assembly seats in the Delhi assembly elections.
  • Arvind Kejriwal was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal.


3. Winners of the 65th Filmfare Awards were announced

  • At the 65th Filmfare Awards, the film Gully Boy won 13 awards, including Best Film, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Director.
  • The film Gully Boy broke the record of Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerji's film Black which won 11 Filmfare Awards.


5.  Indian Railways to launch third corporate passenger train Kashi Mahakal Express on Varanasi-Indore Route
  • After the successful run of the Tejas Express trains operating on the Lucknow-Delhi and Ahmedabad-Mumbai routes, Indian Railways is going to start operation of the third corporate passenger train - Kashi Mahakal Express connecting religious places of the state of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
  • Kashi Mahakal Express will be inaugurated on 16th February, 2020 followed by routine commercial run from 20th February 2020 onwards. 


6. Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Varanasi 
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be visiting Varanasi, his Parliamentary Constituency on a day’s visit on the 16th of February 2020.
  • The Prime Minister is scheduled to participate in the Closing Ceremony of the Centenary Celebrations of Shri Jagadguru Vishwaradhya Gurukul. PM Modi shall also be releasing the translated version of the Shri Siddhant Shikhamani Granth in 19 languages.
