1. President  Ram Nath Kovind to confer National Lalit Kala Akademi Awards to 15 artists in New Delhi
  • Lalit Kala Akademi’s 61st annual awards shall be conferred by the President of India Ram Nath Kovind to 15 artists at the Rashtrapati Bhavan lawns in New Delhi. The Minister of Culture Prahlad Singh Patel and the Akademi Chairman Dr. Uttam Pacharne shall also grace the awards ceremony.


2. Pune to host 108th Indian Science Congress in 2021, Under the theme ”Science and Technology for Sustainable Development with Women Empowerment”
  • Technology for Sustainable Development with Women Empowerment” Pune will host the 108th Indian Science Congress in January 2021, the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) on January 3-7, 2021 at Symbiosis International University’s Lavale campus with the theme,”Science and Technology for Sustainable Development with Women Empowerment”.


3. Government Launches Humsafar Mobile App For Doorstep Diesel Delivery
  • Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Minister of State (MoS- Independent charge) for Labour & Employment, launched ‘Humsafar’ mobile application in New Delhi, which delivers diesel to doorstep of bulk users.


4. OECD cuts India’s GDP growth to 5.1% from 6.2% for 2020
  • Global agency Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in its report titled “OECD Interim Economic Assessment Coronavirus: The world economy at risk” lowered its India's GDP growth forecast to 5.1 per cent from the earlier projection of 6.2 per cent for 2020 on concerns of impact of deadly coronavirus on the domestic as well as the global economy.

  • The 49th National Safety day organized by the National Safety Council (NSC). The National safety day is observed every year on 4th March.

6. Pekka Lundmark appointed President and CEO of Nokia
  • Nokia appointed Pekka Lundmark as President and CEO (Chief Executive Officer) and he will take charge from September 1, 2020. He will be the successor of Rajeev Suri.
  • Rajeev Suri to step down after more than a decade as President and CEO of Nokia and Nokia Siemens Networks.
  • Lundmark is currently President and CEO of Fortum, a leading energy company based in Espoo, Finland.
