I. PM Modi to inaugurate Bengaluru Tech Summit, 2020 on 19th November: Quick Highlights
  1. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate Bengaluru Tech Summit, 2020 on 19th November at 11:00 AM via video conferencing.
  2. The Bengaluru Tech Summit is scheduled from 19th to 21st November, 2020. The summit is organised by the Government of Karnataka along with Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society (KITS), Karnataka government’s Vision Group on Information Technology, Biotechnology & StartUp, Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) and MM Activ Sci-Tech Communications.


II. DRDO conducts second successful flight test of QRSAM missile System 
  1. Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) conducts another flight test, the Quick Reaction Surface to Air Missile (QRSAM) System tracked the target accurately and successfully neutralised the airborne target. The flight test, second in the series was conducted today at around 1542 hrs from the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur, off the coast of Odisha. The test was carried out once again, against the high performance Jet Unmanned Aerial Target called Banshee, which simulates an aircraft.
  2. The Radars acquired the target from a long range and tracked it till the mission computer automatically launched the missile. Continuous guidance was provided through Radar data link. Missile entered the terminal active homing guidance and reached the target close enough for proximity operation of warhead activation.


III. President Kovind appoints 28 Additional Judges as Judges of Allahabad High Court: Highlights with Details
  1. President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind in exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, appointed Justices Shri Prakash Padia, Shri Alok Mathur, Shri Pankaj Bhatia, Shri Saurabh Lavania, Shri Vivek Varma, Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Piyush Agrawal, Shriaurabh Shyam Shamshery, Jaspreet Singh, Rajeev Singh, Smt. Manju Rani Chauhan, Karunesh Singh Pawar, Dr. Yogendra Kumar Srivastava, Manish Mathur, Rohit Ranjan Agarwal, Ram Krishna Gautam, Umesh Kumar, Pradeep Kumar Srivastava, Anil Kumar—IX, Rajendra Kumar—IV, Mohd. FaizAlam Khan, Vikas Kunvar Srivastav, Virendra Kumar Srivastava, Suresh Kumar Gupta, Sushri Ghandikota Sri Devi, Narendra Kumar Johari, Raj Beer Singh and Ajit Singh, Additional Judges of the Allahabad High Court, as Judges of the Allahabad High Court with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective office. A notification in this regard has been issued today ( 17.11.2020) by Department of Justice.


IV. India-Luxembourg Virtual Summit
  1. A Virtual Summit will be held between Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Prime Minister of Luxembourg H.E. Mr Xavier Bettel on 19 November 2020.
  2. This will be the first stand-alone Summit meeting between India and Luxembourg in the past two decades. The leaders will discuss the entire spectrum of bilateral relationship, including strengthening of India-Luxembourg cooperation in the post-COVID world. They will also exchange views on international and global issues of mutual interest.


V. PM Modi to address the 3rd Annual Bloomberg New Economy Forum on 17th November
  1. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will deliver an address at the 3rd Annual Bloomberg New Economy.
  2. The Bloomberg New Economy Forum was established in 2018 by Mr. Michael Bloomberg. It seeks to build a community of leaders to engage in real conversations leading to actionable solutions about the critical challenges facing a world economy in the throes of a historic transition. 
  3. The inaugural Forum was held in Singapore, and the second annual Forum was hosted in Beijing. These covered a range of topics, including global economic management, trade and investment, technology, urbanization, capital markets, climate change, and inclusion.


VI. Union Minister of Education launches Lilavati Award-2020: AICTE's Innovative education program to empower women
  1. Union Minister of Education Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal, “Nishank” today virtually launched Lilavati Award-2020: AICTE's Innovative education program to empower women. With women empowerment as the theme, the objective of the award is to create awareness about issues like sanitation, hygiene, health, nutrition, literacy, employment, technology, credit, marketing, innovation, skill development, natural resources and rights among women.


VII. EESL Signs MoU with DNRE Goa to implement the country’s first Convergence Project
  1. Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture of PSUs under the Ministry of Power and Department of New & Renewable Energy (DNRE), Goa, have signed a memorandum of understanding today to discuss rolling out of India’s first Convergence Project in the State.
  2. The MoU was signed in the august presence of Shri R K Singh, Union Minister of State (IC) for Power and New & Renewable Energy, Shri Nilesh Cabral, Power Minister, Goa, Shri Sanjiv Nandan Sahai , Secretary, Ministry of Power and other senior officers of the ministry.
