Arjun Munda inaugurates first-ever Virtual 10-day-long Aadi Mahotsav in Madhya Pradesh
The 10-day-long Adi Mahotsav in Madhya Pradesh was inaugurated in a virtual format by the Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda. Due to the Covid-19 epidemic, TRIFED has decided to organise its annual program Aadi Mahotsav-2020 in an online mode this year.
The 10-day long festival, commencing on December 1, 2020, is being hosted on the Tribes India website(www.tribesindia.com).
The Main Focus On - 10-day-long Aadi Mahotsav in Madhya Pradesh
The main focus is on the tribal craft and culture of Madhya Pradesh. Ms. Meena Singh, Minister for Tribal Development, Government of Madhya Pradesh and Shri Ramesh Chand Meena, Chairman, TRIFED were the guests of honour for this online inauguration today.
Showcase - Aadi Mahotsav in Madhya Pradesh
The event will showcase the tribal traditions of the various tribal communities – by having their crafts and natural produce on display. Videos showcasing different aspects of their culture – music, dance etc, will also be shared. In essence, it will still be a celebration of the tribes and their diverse, varied lifestyle but on a different platform.
Assam govt. to launch Orunodoi scheme in Guwahati
Assam government launch the ‘Orunodoi’ scheme in Guwahati. Over 18 lakh families in the state will receive 830 rupees per month in their bank accounts under the scheme. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will launch the scheme in presence of Finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati.
The scheme will be rolled out in 29 districts at the moment, with 18.2 lakh beneficiaries. The scheme will be implemented in the four districts under BTC once the Council election process is over.

The 73 Km stretch of the newly widened and six laned NH19, made with a total outlay of Rs 2447 crore, is expected to reduce the travel time between Prayagraj and Varanasi by one hour.
