President Kovind appoints 7 Additional Judges as Judges of Allahabad High Court   

President Kovind appoints 7 Additional Judges as Judges of Allahabad High Court: The President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind in exercise of the power conferred by clause (I) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, appointed Shri Mohd. Aslam, Anil Kumar Ojha, Smt. Sadhna Rani (Thakur), Naveen Srivastava, Syed Aftab Husain Rizvi, Ajai Tyagi, and Ajai Kumar Srivastava-l, to be an Additional Judges of the Allahabad High Court. 

A notification in this regard was issued by Department of Justice, Ministry of Law & Justice on 22 March, 2021.

The notification mentioned that the appointment of Smt. Sadhna Rani (Thakur), S/Shri Syed Aftab Husain Rizvi, and Ajai Kumar Srivastava-l, would be for a period of two years with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.

7th Staff Talks between Indian Navy and Bangladesh Navy held in New Delhi  

7th Staff Talks between Indian Navy and Bangladesh Navy were conducted from 23 to 25 March 2021 at New Delhi. Bangladesh Navy delegation was led by Rear Admiral Mohammad Mozammel Haque, Commander Chattogram Naval Area. Rear Admiral J Singh, Assistant Chief of Naval Staff led the delegation from Indian Navy.

During the Staff Talks, issues relating to joint cooperative efforts like Coordinated Patrol along International Maritime Boundary Line, bilateral exercise BONGOSAGAR, conduct of Naval Training and Hydrography were discussed. Bangladesh Navy delegation also held a fruitful interaction with Vice Admiral MS Pawar, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, Deputy Chief of Naval Staff of Indian Navy on 24 March 2021.


Defence Minister of Republic of Korea to visit India from March 25-27, 2021  

Minister of National Defence of Republic of Korea (RoK) Mr Suh Wook will be on a visit to India from March 25-27, 2021. During the visit, the dignitary will hold bilateral meeting with Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh in New Delhi to discuss India–RoK defence cooperation along with other regional and international issues of mutual interest. An Indo-Korean Friendship Park will also be jointly inaugurated by the visiting dignitary and Raksha Mantri at Delhi Cantt.

The Minister of National Defence of RoK will also travel to Agra during the visit.


Parliament passes National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development Bill 2021 

The Parliament has passed the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development Bill, 2021 with the approval of Rajya Sabha yesterday. 

The Lok Sabha passed the Bill on Tuesday. The legislation seeks to establish the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development (NBFID) to support the infrastructure financing in the country. This includes development of bonds and derivatives markets which are necessary for infrastructure financing.


President Kovind appoints Rajendra Badamikar and Khazi Jayabunnisa Mohiuddin as Additional Judges of Karnataka High Court  

The President of India, in exercise of the power conferred by clause (l) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, appointed Shri Rajendra Badamikar, and Sushree Khazi Jayabunnisa Mohiuddin to be an Additional Judges of the Karnataka High Court for a period of two years with effect from the date they assumes charge of their respective offices. A notification in this regard was issued by Department of Justice, Ministry of Law & Justice on 22 March, 2021.

About - Shri Rajendra Badamikar

Shri Rajendra Badamikar, B.Sc., LL. B (Spl.), joined the Judicial Service as a Munsiff on October 18, 1993 and has worked in the cadres of Civil Judge, District Judge and Sessions Judge for more than 26 years. He also performed duties as Registrar (Judicial), High Court of Karnataka. Presently, he is working as Registrar General, High Court of Karnataka, Bengaluru.

About - Sushree Khazi Jayabunnisa Mohiuddin

Sushree Khazi Jayabunnisa Mohiuddin, B.Sc., LL.M., joined the Judicial Service as a Munsiff on October 18, 1993 and has worked in the cadres of Civil Judge, Principal District and Sessions Judge for more than 26 years. She also performed duties as Registrar (Administration), High Court of Karnataka. Presently, she is working as Registrar (Vigilance), High Court of Karnataka, Bengaluru.


India launches auctions for 2nd Tranche of commercial coal mining  

India launched its 2nd Tranche of auction for commercial coal mining offering 67 mines for sale of coal. This is the highest number of mines on offer in a particular tranche of auction after commencement of the auction regime since 2014.


Govt to roll out GPS based toll collection system: Nitin Gadakari

The government is working to roll out a GPS based toll collection system and introducing E-Highway from Delhi to Mumbai in the upcoming months. This was stated by the Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadakari in the Lok Sabha.
