Bhupendra Patel takes oath as new Chief Minister of Gujarat    

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Bhupendra Patel takes oath as new Chief Minister of Gujarat, after the resignation of Vijay Rupani as Chief Minister of Gujarat. 59-year-old first-time MLA Bhupendra Patel is the 17th Chief Minister of Gujarat. 

Gujarat state governor Acharya Devvrat administered the oath of office and secrecy to Bhupendra Patel at Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar.

Bhupendra Patel succeed the outgoing Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, who resigned from the post on Saturday (11th September 2021). Bhupendra Patel became the MLA from the Ghatlodiya seat of Ahmedabad city in 2017.


Sports Ministry announces free registration for 2 lakh school students for Fit India Quiz 

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has announced that the first 2 lakh students nominated by 1 lakh schools can now be registered free for the nationwide India Quiz instead of the participation fee of Rs 225, that was earlier applicable. Every school can nominate maximum 2 students for free for the quiz on first cum first basis.

Every additional student can be nominated by the school for a nominal fee of Rs 50 instead of earlier fee of Rs 225.

India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage surpasses 74.38 Cr; Recovery Rate currently at 97.54%

With the administration of 53,38,945 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, the country's COVID-19 vaccination coverage surpassed the cumulative figure of 74.38 Cr (74,38,37,643) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 97.54%. 27,254 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

The Weekly Positivity Rate at 2.11% remains less than 3% for the last 80 days now. The Daily Positivity rate reported to be 2.26%. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 3% for the last 14 days and below 5% for 97 consecutive days now.
