13th BRICS Summit 2021 INDIA: As part of India’s ongoing Chairship of BRICS in 2021, the 13th BRICS Summit 2021 will be held in virtual format on the theme BRICS@15: Intra-BRICS cooperation for continuity, consolidation and consensus. It will be the third time that India will be hosting the BRICS Summit after 2012 and 2016.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair the 13th BRICS Summit on 9 September 2021 in virtual format.

India Post Payments Bank, LIC Housing Finance sign Strategic Partnership for Offering Home Loan Products

India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) under Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications and LIC Housing Finance Ltd (LICHFL), the country’s premier housing finance player, signed a strategic partnership for providing home loan products to over 4.5 crore customers of IPPB.

Through its robust and extensive network of 650 branches and more than 136,000 banking access points, IPPB will make LICHFL’s home loan products accessible to its customers pan-India.

As part of the Memorandum of Understanding, credit underwriting, processing, and disbursement for all home loans will be handled by LICHFL with IPPB responsible for sourcing.

NITI Aayog and Gujarat University Sign SoI to Promote Cooperation in Agriculture

A Statement of Intent (SoI) was signed between NITI Aayog and Gujarat University. The SoI focuses on technical collaboration between the two institutions to strengthen knowledge-sharing and policy development in India.

The objective is to encourage and promote cooperation in the field of agriculture and allied sectors. The SoI is expected to give a thrust to India’s efforts towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

The new Academic Chair will undertake academic and collaborative research activities in Ayurveda, including herbal medicine and yoga, as well as design academic standards and short-term/medium-term courses and educational guidelines.
