India, ADB sign $112 million loan agreement to improve water supply infrastructure in Jharkhand

The Government of India and Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed a $112 million loan agreement to develop water supply infrastructure and strengthen capacities of urban local bodies (ULBs) for improved service delivery in four towns in the state of Jharkhand.

Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2021 to be launched under Swachh Bharat Mission

Swachh Survekshan Grameen, 2021 will be launched under the Swachh Bharat Mission Phase- 2 today.

Swachh Survekshan Grameen aims to support the acceleration of Open Defecation Free plus interventions and results in the country. An expert agency has been hired to conduct the Survekshan under which Villages, Districts and States would be ranked using key parameters.

As part of Swachh Survekshan Grameen, 17 thousand 475 villages in 698 districts across the country will be covered. Over 87 thousand public places including schools, anganwadis, and public health centres in these villages will be visited for survey. India, ADB sign $300 million loan to expand rural connectivity in Maharashtra

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of India today signed a $300 million loan as additional financing to scale up improvement of rural connectivity to help boost rural economy in the state of Maharashtra.

The additional financing for the ongoing Maharashtra Rural Connectivity Improvement Project will help improve an additional 1,100 rural roads and 230 bridges for a total length of 2,900 kilometers (km) in 34 districts. The ongoing project with $200 million financing, approved in August 2019, is already improving and maintaining the condition and safety of 2,100 km of rural roads across Maharashtra.....Read More

PM Narendra Modi to chair 13th BRICS Summit 2021

As part of India’s ongoing Chairship of BRICS in 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair the 13th Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa Summit today in virtual format. The theme for the Summit is BRICS@15: Intra-BRICS cooperation for continuity, consolidation and consensus.

The meeting will be attended by the President of Brazil Jair Bolsanaro, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping and President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa. 2-day Workshop on Capacity Building for Ladakh Officials to begin at Leh, Ladakh

With the administration of 86,51,701 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, the country's COVID-19 vaccination coverage surpassed the cumulative figure of 71.65 Cr (71,65,97,428) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 97.48%. 43,263 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

The Weekly Positivity Rate at 2.43% remains less than 3% for the last 76 days now. The Daily Positivity rate reported to be 2.38%. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 3% for the last 10 days and below 5% for 94 consecutive days now.
