Cabinet approves 3% increase in DA of Central Govt employees, pensioners due from July 1, 2021
Cabinet approves 3% increase in DA of Central Govt employees, pensioners: The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today has approved to release an additional instalment of Dearness Allowance to Central Government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners w.e.f. 1.7.2021 representing an increase of 3% over the existing rate of 28% of the Basic Pay / Pension, to compensate for price rise.

This increase is in accordance with the accepted formula, which is based on the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission. The combined impact on the exchequer on account of both Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief would be Rs.9,488.70 crore per annum. India achieves major milestone of ‘100 crore COVID-19 vaccinations: In a historic achievement, the cumulative COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has surpassed the 100-crore milestone.
Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.15%. Recovery Rate is currently at 98.15% its highest peak since March 2020. 18,454 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
According to the Union Health Ministry, more than 48 lakh vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
India's Active caseload stands at one lakh 78 thousand 831. Active cases account for less than one per cent of total cases and it is currently at 0.52 per cent, the lowest since March last year.
