40th India International Trade Fair 2021 to be held in Pragati Maidan from November 14-27     

The 40th edition of India International Trade Fair (IITF) will be held in Pragati Maidan from 14-27 November 2021, on the theme of “Atmanirbhar Bharat '' with a focus on economy, export potential, infrastructure supply chain, demand and vibrant demography.

IITF with B2B and B2C components is one of the largest integrated trade fairs in the South- Asian region. The format of IITF has business; social, cultural and educational dimensions that are weaved together where visitors and exhibitors, media persons, marketing professional, social activists, NGOs etc. all converge to explore their objectives.


Bangladesh, ADB signs USD 400 million loan agreement to highway development  

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the government of Bangladesh signed the agreement for USD 400 million in loan for constructing the Dhaka-Sylhet highway to improve mobility, road safety and regional trade in the north east economic corridor in Bangladesh.

It is the first tranche of the USD 1.78 billion financing facility approved by ADB for the South Asia Subregional Economic Cooperation (SASEC) Dhaka-Sylhet Road investment project. It will be utilised for widening of about 210 kilometres of Dhaka-Sylhet road from 2-lane to 4 lane highway among other activities.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated ‘Azadi@75 – New Urban India: Transforming Urban Landscape’ Conference-cum-Expo in Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

About 

The Conference-cum-Expo is being organised by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) from 5th to 7th October 2021 as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. It is themed on transforming urban landscape with specific focus on the transformative changes brought about in Uttar Pradesh. All States/UTs will participate in the Conference-cum-Expo, which will help in experience sharing, commitment and direction for further action.


RBI imposes 25 lakh penalty on Adarsh Mahila Nagari Sahakari Bank, Aurangabad  

The Reserve Bank of India (RBl) has imposed a monetary penalty of ₹25.00 lakh (Rupees Twenty Five Lakh only) on Adarsh Mahila Nagari Sahakari Bank Limited, Aurangabad, Maharashtra (the bank) for contravention of/ non-compliance with the directions issued by the RBI to Urban Co-operative Banks on Exposure Norms and Statutory/ Other Restrictions-UCBs, Board of Directors-UCBs and opening of On-site ATMs.

The inspection report of the bank based on its financial position as on March 31, 2019, revealed, inter alia, contravention of/ non-compliance with directions issued by RBI to Urban Cooperative Banks on Exposure Norms and Statutory/Other Restrictions-UCBs, Board of Directors-UCBs and opening of On-site ATMs. Based on the same, a Notice was issued to the bank advising it to show cause as to why penalty should not be imposed for non-compliance with the directions.


Namya Kapoor won gold medal in women's 25m air pistol event of ISSF Junior World Championships  

India's 14-year-old shooter Naamya Kapoor won the gold medal in the women's 25-metre air pistol event of the ISSF Junior World Championship in Lima, Peru. Bronze medal was won by Manu Bhaker of India.

Indian teenager Naamya Kapoor shot 36 in the finals to claim the top prize ahead of France's Camille Jedrzejewski with 33 and 19-year-old Olympian Bhakar with 31, who has already won three gold medals so far in the tournament.


Govt extends Credit Guarantee Scheme for Subordinate Debt upto 31st of March 2022  

Government has extended the Credit Guarantee Scheme for Subordinate Debt upto 31st of March 2022.

According to the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, the government had announced creation of Distressed Assets Fund - Subordinate Debt for Stressed MSMEs’ on 13th May last year under the Atma Nirbhar Bharat Package.

The scheme was launched to provide credit facility through lending institutions to the promoters of stressed Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.


RBI imposes 1 lakh penalty on Balasinor Nagrik Sahakari Bank Balasinor, (Gujarat)  

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of ₹1.00 lakh (Rupees one lakh only) on Balasinor Nagrik Sahakari Bank Ltd., Balasinor, Dist. Mahisagar (Gujarat) (the bank) for non-compliance with directions issued by the RBI on ‘Loans and advances to directors, relatives and firms / concerns in which they are interested’.

The statutory inspection of the bank conducted by the RBI with reference to the bank’s financial position as on March 31, 2019, the Inspection Report pertaining thereto and examination of all related correspondence revealed, inter alia, non-compliance with aforesaid directions issued by the RBI.

In furtherance to the same, a notice was issued to the bank advising it to show cause as to why penalty should not be imposed for non-compliance with the aforesaid directions issued by the RBI.

After considering the bank’s reply to the notice and oral submissions made during the personal hearing, the RBI came to the conclusion that the aforesaid charge was substantiated and warranted imposition of monetary penalty.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage crosses the landmark of 91 Cr; Recovery Rate currently at 97.93%

With the administration of 72,51,419 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage crossed the landmark of 91 Cr (91,54,65,826) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 97.93%. Recovery Rate is currently at its highest peak since March 2020. 18,346 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

The Weekly Positivity Rate at 1.66% remains less than 3% for the last 102 days now. The Daily Positivity rate reported to be 1.61%. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 3% for the last 36 days and below 5% for 119 consecutive days now.
