PM Modi to launch two innovative customer centric initiatives of RBI on 12 November 

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will launch two innovative customer centric initiatives of the Reserve Bank of India on 12 November, 2021 via video conferencing. These initiatives are the RBI Retail Direct Scheme and the Reserve Bank - Integrated Ombudsman Scheme.

The RBI Retail Direct Scheme is aimed at enhancing access to the government securities market for retail investors. It offers them a new avenue for directly investing in securities issued by the Government of India and the State Governments. Investors will be able to easily open and maintain their government securities account online with the RBI, free of cost.


India Post Payments Bank, Department of Posts in Strategic Alliance with Bajaj Allianz for Term and Annuity Products 

India Post Payments Bank (IPPB), Department of Posts and Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company (BALIC) today announced a strategic partnership for offering term and annuity products to customers through the Bank’s extensive network of 650 branches and over 136,000 banking access points. 

The tie-up will enable customers, particularly from weaker sections and living in unbanked and underserved areas, to become financially secure and empowered, and is in line with IPPB’s objective of offering value added products and services to its customers.

Govt allots license and spectrum to Vodafone Idea and Reliance Jio for 5G testing in Gujarat  

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) Government of India allocated license and spectrum to Vodafone Idea Limited and Reliance Jio Infocomm for 5G testing in Gujarat.

Department of Telecommunications (DoT) for 5G testing in Gujarat, allotted license and spectrum to:

  • Vodafone Idea Limited in Gandhinagar (for urban), Mansa (for semi urban) and Unava, (rural) with Nokia as equipment supplier.
  • Reliance Jio Infocomm in Jamnagar (semi urban / rural) with Samsung as equipment supplier.

The team checked the data speed at the Mahatma Mandir 5G site of Gandhinagar, which was found to be about 1.5 Gbps - almost 100 times faster than 4G. The speed test was done on non-standalone 5G mode.


32nd edition of “Hunar Haat” to be held in Lucknow from 12 to 21 Nov 2021  

Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Mansukh Mandaviya will inaugurate the 32nd edition of “Hunar Haat”, “Perfect Platform” to“promote and preserve” traditional art and craft of the country, in Lucknow on November 12, 2021.

More than 600 artisans and craftsmen from more than 30 States and Union Territories including Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Nagaland, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Goa, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Ladakh, Karnataka, Gujarat, Haryana, Jammu-Kashmir, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Kerala have brought their indigenous products made with wood, brass, bamboo, glass, cloth, paper, clay etc. Traditional foods from various parts of the country are also available at the “Hunar Haat”.

Renowned artists such as Annu Kapoor, Pankaj Udhas, Kumar Shanu, Alka Yagnik, Altaf Raja, Suresh Vadekar, Sudesh Bhosale, Sadanand Biswas (Kathhak artist), Prem Bhatia, Vivek Mishra, Dilbag Singh, Rani Indrani, Shibani Kashyap, Sugandha Mishra, Bhupinder Singh Bhuppi, Mohit Khanna and others will perform various cultural and musical programmes every day in the evening at the “Hunar Haat”, being organised from 12th to 21st November.

The Upcoming Hunar Haat Events

The next "Hunar Haats" will be organised at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi (14th to 27th Nov), Hyderabad (26 November to 5 December), Surat (10 to 19 December), JLN Stadium, New Delhi (22 December 2021 to 2 January 2022). “Hunar Haats” will also be organised in Mysuru, Guwahati, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Patna, Puducherry, Mumbai, Jammu, Chennai, Chandigarh, Agra, Prayagraj, Goa, Jaipur, Bengaluru, Kota, Sikkim, Srinagar, Leh, Shillong, Ranchi, Agartala and other places in the coming days.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage crosses the landmark of 110 Cr; Recovery Rate currently at 98.25%

With the administration of 57,54,817 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed the landmark of 110 Cr (1,10,23,34,225) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

The recovery of 13,878 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,38,00,925.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.25%. 13,091 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

The Active Caseload is presently at 1,38,556 is lowest in 266 days. Active cases presently constitute 0.40% of the country's total Positive Cases, which is lowest since March 2020.

The Weekly Positivity Rate at 1.18% remains less than 2% for the last 48 days now. The Daily Positivity rate reported to be 1.10%. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 2% for the last 38 days and below 3% for 73 consecutive days now.
