1. Indore wins ‘Cleanest City’ title for fifth consecutive time under Swachh Survekshan
  • For the fifth consecutive year, Indore was awarded the title of India’s Cleanest City under Swachh Survekshan, while Surat and Vijayawada bagged the second and third spots respectively in the ‘more than 1 lakh population’ category. 
  • In the population category of ‘less than 1 lakh’, Vita, Lonavala and Sasvad, all from Maharashtra, bagged the first, second and third positions respectively. Varanasi emerged as the ‘Best Ganga Town’ while Ahmedabad Cantonment won the title of ‘India’s Cleanest Cantonment’, followed by Meerut Cantonment and Delhi Cantonment.

  • Food Corporation of India (FCI) under Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD) has developed its first state-of-art laboratory for in house testing of food grain samples. Ashwini Kumar Choubey Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution inaugurated the ‘Quality Control Laboratory’ at Institute of Food Security (IFS), FCI, Gurugram (Haryana).

  • Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan along with the Chief Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today inaugurated the North-East Education Conclave at Guwahati Medical College & Hospital Auditorium at Guwahati organized by Department of Education, Government of Assam and Shankardev Education and Research Foundation (SERF).


8. India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 116.50 Cr; Recovery Rate currently at 98.30%
  • With the administration of 67,25,970 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded116.50 Cr (1,16,50,55,210) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.
  • The recovery of 12,329 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,39,22,037.
  • Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.30%.10,488 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
