1. DRDO successfully test-fires indigenously developed new generation surface-to-surface missile ‘Pralay’

Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully conducted maiden flight test of indigenously developed surface-to-surface missile ‘Pralay’, from Dr A P J Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha on December 22, 2021.
The ‘Pralay’ Missile is powered with solid propellant rocket motor and many new technologies. The missile has a range of 150-500 kilometre and can be launched from a mobile launcher.

2. Cabinet approves MoU between ICAI and The Polish Chamber of Statutory Auditors (PIBR)

The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India(ICAI) and the Polish Chamber of Statutory Auditors (PIBR) to establish mutual co-operation in the areas of Member Management, Professional Ethics, Technical Research, CPD, Professional Accountancy Training, Audit Quality Monitoring, Advancement of Accounting Knowledge, Professional and Intellectual Development.

3. Cabinet approves MoU between Competition Commission of India and Competition Commission of Mauritius

The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Competition Commission of India (CCI) and Competition Commission of Mauritius (CCM) for promotion and strengthening of co-operation in competition law and policy.

4. Cabinet approves Minimum Support Price (MSP) for Copra for 2022 season

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given its approval for the Minimum Support Prices (MSPs) for copra for 2022 season.
The MSP for Fair Average Quality (FAQ) of milling copra has been increased to Rs10,590/- per quintal for 2022 season from Rs.10,335/- per quintal in 2021 and the MSP for ball copra has been increased to Rs.11,000/- per quintal for 2022 season from Rs.10,600/- per quintal in 2021.

5. PM Modi inaugurates and lays the foundation of multiple projects in Varanasi

Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections 2022: The Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of ‘Banas Dairy Sankul’ at the UP State Industrial Development Authority Food Park, Karkhiyaon, Varanasi. Spread across 30 acres of land, the Dairy will be built at a cost of about Rs 475 crores and will have a facility for processing 5 lakh litre of milk per day.

6. India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 139.70 Cr; Recovery Rate currently at 98.40%

With the administration of 70,17,671 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 139.70 Cr (1,39,69,76,774) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.
The recovery of 6,960 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,42,08,926.
Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.40%,highest since March 2020. 7,495 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
