1. Dr V Anantha Nageswara appointed as new Chief Economic Advisor
  • The Government has appointed Dr V. Anantha Nageswaran as the Chief Economic Advisor, he has assumed charge.
  • V Anantha Nageswaran is the 18th Chief Economic Adviser to the Government of India.


2. India, Philippines signs USD 375 million MoU for sale of BrahMos supersonic anti-ship cruise missiles
  • India and Philippines signed a $375 million Memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the sale of BrahMos supersonic anti-ship cruise missiles to the Philippines Navy.
  • According to the MoU BrahMos Aerospace Private Limited (BAPL) supplied the Shore Based Anti-Ship Missile System to the Philippines.


3. Indian Navy sign MoU with India Infoline Home Finance
  • The Indian Naval Placement Agency (INPA) and IIFL Home Finance Ltd (IIFL HFL) signed an MoU. Both entities will explore opportunities for the recruitment of Naval Veterans within IIFL HFL who would endeavour to provide an opportunity for Veterans/ Ex-servicemen / dependents competent for various roles in their organisation.


4. India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 164.44 cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 93.60%
  • With the administration of more than 57 lakh Doses (57,35,692) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 164.44 Cr (1,64,44,73,216) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.
  • 3,47,443 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 3,80,24,771.
  • Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 93.60%. 2,51,209 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
