1. International Women's Day Week begins today
  • The Ministry of Women and Child Development will celebrate the International Women’s Day week from 1st to 8th March 2022 as an ‘Iconic Week’ as a part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
  • As a part of the week-long celebration for International Women’s Day, the Ministry will organize various events and social media campaigns covering a variety of themes related to women’s safety and empowerment.


2. President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurates 'Arogya Vanam'
  • President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday inaugurated a hub of medicinal herbs and plants 'Arogya Vanam' at Rashtrapati Bhavan in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and First Lady Savita Kovind.

  • The Government of Bangladesh signed two separate agreements with Asian Development Bank (ADB) for loans worth USD 292 million.

  • The 9th Operation Ganga flight has reached New Delhi from Bucharest, Romania. It was carrying 218 Indian nationals.

10. India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 177.70 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.59%
  • With the administration of more than 18 lakh Doses (18,22,513) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 177.70 Cr (1,77,70,25,914) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.
  • 16,864 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,23,24,550.
  • Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.59%. 6,915 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
