Karnataka tops in NITI Aayog India Innovation Index 2021 followed by Manipur, Chandigarh
3rd edition of NITI Aayog India Innovation Index 2022: Karnataka, Manipur and Chandigarh have topped in their respective categories in the third edition of NITI Aayog’s India Innovation Index 2021.
The ranking was done in three categories 'Major States', 'North East and Hill States' and 'Union Territories (UTs)/City and Small States'. Sikkim topped in the North-East category, while Delhi was at the top in the UT segment.
While Karnataka has topped again in the ‘Major States’ category, Manipur is leading the ‘North East and Hill States’ category and Chandigarh is the top performer in the ‘Union Territories and City States’ category.
Bihar, Odisha and Chandigarh were the least attractive states for investment. Among North East and Hill States, Manipur, Uttarakhand and Meghalaya were the top three states; while among the UTs, Chandigarh, Delhi and Andaman Nicobar Islands were the top three regions.......Read More
SBI launches WhatsApp Banking Services to check Mini Statement
India's largest public sector bank, State Bank of India has launched its WhatsApp banking services for the convenience of its customers. Now, SBI customers can avail selected banking services using WhatsApp, as they no longer need to download the app or visit an ATM to avail this facility.
SBI customers can get their Account Balance and view Mini Statement on WhatsApp. SBI WhatsApp Banking services will be available to customers when they send a message saying ‘Hi’ on the number 919022690226.
NTPC inks SoI with NITI Aayog to develop Net Zero GHG emissions Roadmap
NTPC Ltd signed a Statement of Intent (SoI) with NITI Aayog to develop the Net Zero GHG emissions Roadmap for NTPC.
The SoI seeks to formalize a framework of cooperation between the parties to facilitate NTPC to strategies on diversification of its generation mix to eventually reduce its carbon footprint and support India's endeavor towards achieving net zero by 2070.
As the Government of India has announced the ‘Panchamrit’ goals during COP 26, NITI Aayog is working on the development of different scenarios/ pathways for achieving Net Zero by 2070.
Indian Railways organises 'Azadi Ki Rail Gadi Aur Stations' from 18th to 23rd July, 2022
Indian Railways will organise closing event of the Iconic Week Celebrations of the ‘Azadi Ki Rail Gadi aur Stations’ here on 23rd July, 2022.
Background
As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, Indian Railways is organising week long celebrations of the ‘Azadi Ki Rail Gadi aur Stations’ from 18th July-23rd July. During the event, the importance of 75 identified stations/27 trains in the freedom struggle has been highlighted.
All Zones/Divisions through their nominated Stations (all 75 freedom stations) will be connected through VC on the closing event. General Managers will attend the function through VC. In this regard, Railway Board has already written to General Managers of all Zonal Railways.
Ranil Wickremesinghe takes oath as new President of Sri Lanka
Ranil Wickremesinghe took oath as the new President of Sri Lanka. Before this he was elected to the post, receiving 134 votes. His closest rival, Dullus Alahapperuma, received 82 votes. In the 225-member Parliament, 223 MPs voted to elect a new President.
India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 200.91 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.46%
India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 200.91 Cr (2,00,91,91,969) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.
COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 3.82 Cr (3,82,20,319) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards.
India’s Active Caseload currently stands at 1,48,881. Active cases now constitute 0.34% of the country's total Positive Cases. 21,566 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.46%. 18,294 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,31,50,434.
The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 4.51% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 4.25%.
