RBI approves payment aggregator licence for Razorpay, PineLabs & Stripe     

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has given in-principle approval for payment aggregator licenses to Razorpay, Pine Labs, Stripe and 1Pay.

As per RBI guidelines, payment aggregators must have a net worth of Rs 15 crore as of March 2021 and a net worth of Rs 25 crore by or before March 2023. And, he has to maintain a net worth of Rs 25 crore every time after that.

RBI imposes 5.72 crore penalty on Federal Bank 

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of ₹5.72 crore (Rupees Five crore and seventy-two lakh only) on Federal Bank Ltd. Federal Bank for non-compliance with the provisions of ‘Reserve Bank of India (Financial Services provided by Banks) Directions, 2016’ issued by RBI.


RBI imposes 70 lakh penalty on Bank of India (BOI)

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of ₹70 lakh (Rupees Seventy lakh only) on Bank of India. The bank for non-compliance with certain provisions of the Reserve Bank of India – (Know Your Customer (KYC) Direction, 2016’ and circular instructions on Compliance Function in Banks’ issued by RBI.


India becomes 68th country to join Interpol's child sexual abuse database 

India has joined Interpol's International Child Sexual Abuse (ICSE) database which will allow it to make connections between victims, abusers and crime scene using audio-visual data.

According to an Interpol statement, the CBI, which is India's nodal agency for Interpol matters, joined the database, making India the 68th country to join it.

Centre extends export period for 80 lakh tonnes of sugar to July 20 

The Government of India has extended by two weeks a deadline for the export of 80 lakh tonnes of sugar. In June, India, the world's largest sugar producer, gave its mills time till July 5 to export sugar, but some mills missed doing so due to heavy rains.

India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 198.65 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.51%

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 198.65 Cr (1,98,65,36,288) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 3.74 Cr (3,74,00,178) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards.

India’s Active Caseload currently stands at 1,25,028. Active cases now constitute 0.29% of the country's total Positive Cases. 18,840 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.51%. 16,104 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,29,53,980.

The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 4.09% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 4.14%
