PM Modi dedicates 75 Digital Banking Units across 75 districts to the nation    

Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated 75 Digital Banking Units (DBU) across 75 districts to the nation via video conferencing.

The Digital Banking Units (DBU) will enable those who do not have ICT infrastructure to access banking services digitally. They will also assist those who are not tech savvy to adopt digital banking. In DBU, the products and services will be offered to customers in 2 modes:
  • Self Service Mode
  • Digital Assistance Mode

India-Africa Defence Dialogue to be held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat  

India-Africa Defence Dialogue to be held on October 18 on the sidelines of DefExpo 2022 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh will host the Defence Ministers of African Nations during the India-Africa Defence Dialogue (IADD) on the sidelines of the 12th DefExpo in Gandhinagar.

Indian Navy Sailing Championship 2022 

Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala will be conducting Indian Navy Sailing Championship 2022 at the state-of-the-art Marakkar Watermanship Training Centre from 18 -21 October 2022.

This mega championship under the aegis of lndian Naval Sailing Association (INSA) at IHQ MoD (Navy) is the largest intra Navy sailing regatta in which nearly 100 yacht persons from all three Indian Naval Commands, incl. 15 Officer Trainees of INA will participate.

Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated India’s First Aluminum Freight Rake - 61 BOBRNALHSM1 at Bhubaneswar Railway Station. The rake’s destination is Bilaspur.

This is a dedicated effort for Make in India program as it has been fully designed and developed indigenously in collaboration with RDSO, HINDALCO and Besco Wagon.


HM Amit Shah launches MBBS course in Hindi for the first time in the country 

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah launched the first MBBS course in Hindi in the country in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.

Government has begun conducting the JEE, NEET and UGC examinations in 12 languages of the country. Similarly, the Common University Entrance Test is being conducted in 13 languages and 10 States have commenced teaching Engineering courses by translating them into Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Malayalam and Gujarati.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 219.33 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.75%

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 219.33 Cr (2,19,33,43,651) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 4.11 Cr (4,11,47,585) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards.

India’s Active Caseload currently stands at 26,834. Active cases now constitute 0.06% of the country's total Positive Cases. 2,060 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.75%. 1,841 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,40,75,149.

The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 1.02% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 1.86%.
