CV Ananda Bose appointed as West Bengal new Governor 

Former bureaucrat CV Ananda Bose has been appointed as the new Governor of West Bengal. CV Ananda Bose formerly served in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).

Manipur Governor La Ganesan had been holding the additional charge of West Bengal after the former Governor, Jagdeep Dhankhar, became Vice President of India.

India MedTech Expo rescheduled; Now to be held in New Delhi from 17-19 Jan 2023  

The India MedTech Expo (IMTE), the first-ever Expo of Indian Medtech Industry by Government, is rescheduled and now will be held from 17th to 19th January 2023 at Aerocity Grounds, New Delhi.

The three days Expo was earlier scheduled from 9th to 11th December 2022. On 30th September 2022, the website of India MedTech Expo (IMTE) was launched and the flyer was released for the event.

India MedTech Expo (IMTE)-2023 

India MedTech Expo (IMTE), a three-day long event is the 1st edition of India MedTech Expo, organized by Dept. of Pharmaceuticals, Government of India, in close association with all the Medical Devices Industry Associations. It is being coordinated by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI). The Expo is planned around the theme “Future of Device, Diagnostics & Digital”.


India and Denmark sign MoU of exhibition Silver treasures from Denmark and India 

National Museum, India and Kolding Museum, Denmark sign Memorandum of Understanding of exhibition “Silver treasures from Denmark and India". In the beginning of March, 2023 Museum Kolding and the National Museum in New Delhi will open the joint exhibition "Silver treasures from Denmark and India".

Key Highlights 

The exhibition will showcase the finest of the silver collection from the Museum Kolding and the National Museum in New Delhi in March 2023. The collaboration and exhibition is under the recently agreed cultural exchange programme between India and Denmark for the years 2022 to 2026.

The exhibition "Silver treasures from Denmark and India" is focused on the Danish and Indian Silver artefacts where both museums will show the best silver objects from their collections. Elucidating the beauty and magnificence of silver craftsmanship in both the countries, the exhibition will showcase the best selection of 200 objects in total. For the first time, at the National Museum visitors will be able to see the parallel traditions of the Indian and Danish silver objects.


CEC Rajeev Kumar invited as International Observer for upcoming elections in Nepal 

Chief Election Commissioner of India Rajiv Kumar has been invited by Election Commission of Nepal as International Observer for the forthcoming elections to Nepal’s House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly.

Elections are scheduled in Nepal on 20th November, 2022 for the Federal and Provincial elections to elect 275 members of the Federal Parliament and 550 seats of the seven Provincial Assemblies.

Rajiv Kumar will be leading a delegation of ECI officials as State guest in Nepal from 18th November to 22nd November, 2022. During his visit Kumar would be visiting Polling stations at Kathmandu and areas around.


PM Modi to visit Arunachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh on 19th Nov 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Arunachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh on 19th November, 2022. PM Modi will inaugurate Donyi Polo Airport, Itanagar and dedicate 600 MW Kameng Hydro Power Station to the Nation. After that, he will reach Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, where he will inaugurate ‘Kashi Tamil Sangamam’.

PM in Arunachal Pradesh

In a key step to boost connectivity in the North-East, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the first greenfield airport in Arunachal Pradesh - ‘Donyi Polo Airport, Itanagar’. The name of the airport reflects the traditions and rich cultural heritage of Arunachal Pradesh and its age-old indigenous reverence to the Sun (‘Donyi’) and the Moon (‘Polo’).

The airport, which is the first greenfield airport in Arunachal Pradesh, has been developed in an area of over 690 acres, at a cost of more than Rs. 640 crore. With a 2300 m runway, the airport is suitable for all weather day operations. The airport terminal is a modern building, which promotes energy efficiency, renewable energy and recycling of resources.

During the Programme, Prime Minister Modi will also dedicate 600 MW Kameng Hydro Power Station to the Nation. Developed at a cost of more than Rs 8450 crore and in an area spread over more than 80 kilometres in West Kameng District of Arunachal Pradesh, the project will make Arunachal Pradesh a power surplus state, also benefiting the National Grid in terms of grid stability and integration. This project will contribute in a major way towards fulfilment of the country’s commitment to increase adoption of green energy.


FM Nirmala Sitharaman chairs 5th Meeting of Governing Council of National Investment and Infrastructure Fund  

Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman chaired the 5th meeting of the Governing Council (GC) of National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF), in New Delhi.

NIIF’s first bilateral fund - an “India Japan Fund” with contribution from GoI has been proposed through an MoU between National Investment and Infrastructure Fund Limited (NIIFL) and Japan Bank for International Development (JBIC). The MoU was signed recently on 9th November, 2022.


Nitin Gadkari inaugurates 2 NH projects at Raiganj, West Bengal

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari inaugurated 2 NH projects worth Rs. 1082 Crore at Raiganj ,West Bengal.

The 60 years old demand of the people of Dalkhola (NH-34), this 5 km & 4-lane bypass built at the total cost of Rs. 120 Crore, will finally solve the traffic problem in Dalkhola town now.


Nitin Gadkari inaugurates and lays foundation stone for 4 NH projects in West Medinipur, West Bengal 

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 4 NH projects worth Rs. 5351 Crore in West Medinipur, West Bengal.

The project that was dedicated to the nation included the construction of 55 km Kharagpur to Chichra 4-lane road stretch at the total cost of Rs. 613 Crore. The development of this stretch will go a long way in ensuring the progress and prosperity of the surrounding tribal areas.

Foundation stone was laid for the construction of 162 km Panagarh to Dankuni (NH-2) 6-lane road stretch at the total cost of Rs. 4215 Crore. The construction of this route will enhance connectivity to Sikkim, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and the Bay of Bengal.

Foundation stone was also laid for 10 km 4-lane Purulia bypass at the total cost of Rs. 175 Crore that will be completed by December 2023.
