PM Modi flags off World’s Longest River Cruise - MV Ganga Vilas in Varanasi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the World’s Longest River Cruise-MV Ganga Vilas and inaugurated the Tent City at Varanasi via video conferencing.
PM Modi also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for several other inland waterways projects worth more than Rs. 1000 crores during the event.
About World’s Longest River Cruise-MV Ganga Vilas
The World’s Longest River Cruise-MV Ganga Vilas will begin its journey from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh and travel around 3,200 km in 51 days to reach Dibrugarh in Assam via Bangladesh, sailing across 27 river systems in India and Bangladesh. MV Ganga Vilas has three decks, 18 suites on board with a capacity of 36 tourists, with all the luxury amenities. The maiden voyage has 32 tourists from Switzerland signing up for the entire length of the journey.
The MV Ganga Vilas cruise is curated to bring out the best of the country to be showcased to the world. The 51 days cruise is planned with visits to 50 tourist spots including World Heritage Sites, National Parks, River Ghats, and major cities like Patna in Bihar, Sahibganj in Jharkhand, Kolkata in West Bengal, Dhaka in Bangladesh and Guwahati in Assam. The journey will give the tourists an opportunity to embark upon an experiential voyage and indulge in the art, culture, history, and spirituality of India and Bangladesh.
PM Modi to flag off India's eighth Vande Bharat Express train
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off Vande Bharat Express train connecting Secunderabad with Visakhapatnam on 15th January 2023 via video conferencing.
Key Highlights
The train will be the eighth Vande Bharat Express to be introduced by Indian Railways and will be the first one connecting the two Telugu speaking states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, covering a distance of around 700 km. It will have stoppages at Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry and Vijayawada stations in Andhra Pradesh and at Khammam, Warangal and Secunderabad stations in Telangana.
The indigenously designed train set of Vande Bharat Express is equipped with state-of-the-art passenger amenities and will provide faster, comfortable and convenient travel experience to the rail users.

President Droupadi Murmu appoints 9 judges in Rajasthan High Court: In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President Smt. Droupadi Murmu is pleased to appoint S/Shri (i) Ganesh Ram Meena, (ii) Anil Kumar Upman, (iii) Dr. Nupur Bhati, (iv) Rajendra Prakash Soni, (v) Ashok Kumar Jain, (vi) Yogendra Kumar Purohit (vii) Bhuwan Goyal, (viii) Praveer Bhatnagar and (ix) Ashutosh Kumar, to be Judges of the Rajasthan High Court, in that order of seniority, with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.
Indian Railways to launch Ayodhya to Janakpur Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train
Indian Railways is going to run its Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train on a very special tour “Shri Ram-Janaki Yatra: Ayodhya to Janakpur” covering two most significant pilgrimage sites Ayodhya and Janakpur from the neighboring countries India and Nepal. The tourist train will start from Delhi on 17th Feb 2023 and this initiative will strengthen the bilateral relations and also promote the cultural relations between the two countries.
The tourist train will include the visit of Nandigram, Sitamarhi, Kashi and Prayagraj as added attractions in the tour. There will be two night stay in the hotels, one each at Janakpur and Varanasi respectively, while the visit of Ayodhya, Sitamarhi and Prayagraj will be covered in the day halt at the destination.
