PM Modi to inaugurate Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2023 in Lucknow  

Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Lucknow to inaugurate the Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2023 this morning. He will also inaugurate Global Trade Show and launch Invest UP 2.0.

Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2023: Participate by 

Representatives of about 13 countries are going to participate in the UP Global Investors Summit 2023. These include UAE, Japan, Germany, Thailand, Mexico, South Africa, Brazil, Australia, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Canada and Argentina.

Around 10,000 delegates, including over 400 participants from 41 countries, top industry leaders, Union Ministers, several Ministers and diplomats from 10 partner countries along with CEOs of leading companies are expected to attend the three-day summit.


President Droupadi Murmu to visit Odisha from February 10 to 11 

The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu will visit Odisha from February 10 to 11, 2023.

On February 10, 2023, the President will grace the Foundation Day Celebration of Jnanaprabha Mission at Bhubaneswar. On the same day, she will also grace the 2nd Convocation of Rama Devi Women’s University, Bhubaneswar.

On February 11, 2023, the President will inaugurate the 2nd Indian Rice Congress at ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack.


Global Quality Infrastructure Index (GQII) 2021: India’s ranked 5th globally 

India’s national accreditation system under the Quality Council of India (QCI) has been ranked 5th in the world in the recent Global Quality Infrastructure Index (GQII) 2021. The GQII ranks the 184 economies in the world on the basis of the quality infrastructure (QI).

India’s overall QI system ranking continues to be in the Top 10 at the 10th position, with the standardisation system (under BIS) at 9th and the metrology system (under NPL-CSIR) at 21st position in the world.

The GQII measures the relative development of countries’ QI. A formula calculates a score for each country based on its position in the sub-rankings for metrology, standards and accreditation. Geographically, the top 25 QI systems are mainly located in Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific, with some exceptions, such as India (10th), Brazil (13th), Australia (14th), Turkey (16th), Mexico (18th) and South Africa (20th).


IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw launches Digital Payments Utsav to Promote Digital Transformation 

The Minister for Electronics & Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw launched the ‘Digital Payments Utsav’, a comprehensive campaign aimed at promoting digital payments across India.

About Digital Payments Utsav 

The "Digital Payments Utsav" is an extraordinary campaign that will showcase India's journey of digital transformation, with a series of events and initiatives to be held from 9th February to 9th October 2023. 

The focus of the campaign will be on promoting digital payments in the country, especially in the cities of Lucknow, Pune, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru, as part of the G20 Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG) event.


IGNFA Dehradun and NLSIU Bengaluru sign MoU for imparting Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Law (PGDEL) to IFS Officer Trainees

The Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy (IGNFA), Dehradun and National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for imparting Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Law (PGDEL) to Indian Forest Service (IFS) Officer Trainees.

Key Highlights 

The MoU would pave way for imparting requisite legal knowledge to the officers by the faculty of premier law school. This would also make available a pool of trained and competent officers in the field of environmental laws to the Government of India and the State Governments in meeting the challenges of environment and forestry sector, and also for effective implementation of the Central and State legislations on the subject.

The course will be conducted by the NLSIU faculty at IGNFA, Dehradun and will be completed within the programme cycle of the professional course of the officer trainees. The MoU shall be effective initially for a period of 5 years.
