Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) 2023 held in New Delhi 

India hosted the special negotiating round for the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) in New Delhi, India, from February 8-11, 2023. The round covered IPEF Pillars II (Supply Chains), III (Clean Economy), and IV (Fair Economy).

Approximately 300 officials from India, the United States, Australia, Brunei, Fiji, Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam participated in the deliberations.

The theme of Aero India 2023 is 'The Runway to a Billion Opportunities' and will witness participation by more than 80 countries along with 800 defence companies including around 100 foreign and 700 Indian companies.

First G20 Digital Economy Working Group meeting held in Lucknow 

The 3-day long First Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG) Meeting under India’s G20 Presidency was inaugurated in Lucknow, by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath, Union Minister of Electronics & IT, Communications and Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw.


Defence Secretary meets delegations from Saudi Arabia, USA and Oman on the sidelines of Aero India 2023 

Defence Secretary Shri Giridhar Aramane held bilateral meetings on 12 February 2023 with three defence delegations on the sidelines of Aero India 2023 at Bengaluru.

Defence Secretary met Mr Engr Turki Saad, General Manager Industrial Relations, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and discussed a number of bilateral defence cooperation issues.

A US delegation led by Mr Jedijiah P. Royal, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs, and accompanied by Ambassador Elizabeth Jones, Charge D'Affairs US Embassy and Maj Gen Julian Cheator, US Air Force, met the Defence Secretary.


PM Modi to inaugurates Aadi Mahotsav in New Delhi on 16th Feb

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the national Aadi Mahotsav on 16th February, 2023 at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi. 

The festival will feature exhibition-cum-sale of tribal handicrafts, handloom, paintings, jewellery, cane & bamboo, pottery, food & natural products, gifts & assortment, tribal cuisine and much more through 200 stalls to showcase this.

Key Highlights 

More than 1000 tribal artisans and artists from 28 States/UTs will be participating in the festival. This includes tribal cooks from 19 States/UTs for which 20 food stalls are being set up. Millets have been an integral part of the diet of tribal communities. Further, the United Nations, at the behest of the Government of India, has declared 2023 the International Year Millets. 

To commemorate this and create awareness and increase production & consumption of tribal millets, tribal artisans from across the country are invited to display & sell millet (Shree Anna) products and cuisines.

An exclusive pavilion for the sale and display of Van Dhan products is proposed to be put up. About 39 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras from 17 States/UTs are expected to participate in this Mahotsav.
