India and Romania hold bilateral talks on defence cooperation  

Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane and State Secretary and Chief of the Department for Defence Policy, Planning and International Relations of Romania, Mrs Simona Cojocaru held a bilateral meeting on defence cooperation in New Delhi.

India-Romania hold bilateral talks on defence cooperation in New Delhi: Key Highlights  

A wide range of issues encompassing military to military cooperation, military training and courses, defence co-development and co-production and capacity building were discussed in the meeting.

India-Romania signed an Agreement on Defence Cooperation, giving further impetus to bilateral defence cooperation. Both sides shared their perspectives on regional security challenges and expressed their commitment to work together to enhance cooperation in all defence sectors.


India and African countries hold first joint conference in Pune 

The first joint conference of army chiefs of India and African countries is being held in Pune. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will attend the conference as the chief guest. Army chiefs of 10 countries along with 31 representatives of African countries are present in this conference.

India-Africa Army Chiefs’ Conclave: Key Highlights   

The India-Africa Army Chiefs’ Conclave was structured on the central theme of ‘Africa-India Militaries for Regional Unity – AMRUT’. It was aimed to strengthen and improve synergy between militaries of India and African nations as part of regional cooperation mechanism.

The Conclave focussed on joint training and defence cooperation amongst the nations to evolve an institutionalised framework in order to enhance collaboration in the fields of joint military training, execution of peacekeeping operations; besides promoting Indian defence industries. It is a major landmark in deep-rooted defence ties between India and African nations, thereby enhancing regional cooperation.


INS Sumedha visits Port Algiers in Algeria 

INS Sumedha, presently deployed in the Mediterranean Sea, visited Algiers, Algeria for an operational turn around.

Aims 

The visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing maritime cooperation and interoperability between the two navies. It also demonstrates the Indian Navy's outreach to friendly maritime nations.

The two navies will share best practices and experiences through cross deck visits, professional interactions, sports fixtures and cultural visits.

India’s overall exports cross an all time high of US$ 750 Billion 

India’s overall exports, that includes services and merchandise exports, have crossed US$ 750 Billion. This is an all time high and this achievement of 750 billion comes in the 75th year of independence.

RBI imposes ₹2 lakh penalty on Shri Ganesh Sahakari Bank 

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of ₹2.00 lakh (Rupees Two lakh only) on Shri Ganesh Sahakari Bank Limited Navi Sangvi, Pune for contravention of directions issued by RBI on Know Your Customer (KYC) and Maintenance of Deposit Accounts.


Govt extends last date for PAN-Aadhaar linking to June 30 

The government has extended the last date for linking PAN and Aadhaar to June 30, 2023, to give taxpayers some more time, so that people can inform the prescribed authority to link their Aadhaar with PAN without any hassle.

Govt extends last date for PAN-Aadhaar linking: Key Highlights with Details

Under the provisions of the Income-tax Act, 1961(the ‘Act’) every person who has been allotted a PAN as on 1st July, 2017 and is eligible to obtain Aadhaar Number, is required to intimate his Aadhaar to the prescribed authority on or before 31st March, 2023, on payment of a prescribed fee. Failure to do so shall attract certain repercussions under the Act w.e.f. 1st April, 2023. The date for intimating Aadhaar to the prescribed authority for the purpose of linking PAN and Aadhaar has now been extended to 30th June, 2023.

From 1st July, 2023, the PAN of taxpayers who have failed to intimate their Aadhaar, as required, shall become inoperative. The PAN can be made operative again in 30 days, upon intimation of Aadhaar to the prescribed authority after payment of fee of Rs.1,000.

Those persons who have been exempted from PAN-Aadhaar linking will not be liable to the consequences mentioned above. This category includes those residing in specified States, a non-resident as per the Act, an individual who is not a citizen of India or individuals of the age of eighty years or more at any time during the previous year. It is stated that more than 51 crore PANs have already been linked with Aadhaar till date.

Bhupender Yadav launches e-passbook for EPFO members 

Union Minister for Labor and Employment Shri Bhupender Yadav today launched an e-passbook for the benefit and convenience of the EPFO members enabling them to view more details of their accounts in graphical representations.

Yadav inaugurated a crèche facility in 63 regional offices of EPFO where 100 or more employees are working and laid the foundation Stone of the office building of Regional Office Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.


Centre sanctions Rs. 800 crores for 7432 public fast charging EV stations 

The Union Minister of Heavy Industries, Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey announced the sanction of Rs. 800 crores under FAME India Scheme Phase II to the PSU Oil Marketing Companies (OMC) - Indian Oil (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL) - for setting up 7432 public fast charging stations across the country.
