10th edition of India - Sri Lanka Bilateral Maritime Exercise SLINEX-23
India - Sri Lanka Bilateral Maritime Exercise SLINEX-2023: The 10th edition of India - Sri Lanka bilateral maritime exercise SLINEX-23 will be held in Colombo from 03 - 08 April 2023.
The Indo - Sri Lankan exercise SLINEX 2023 is being conducted in two phases: the Harbour Phase from 03 to 05 April 2023, followed by a Sea Phase from 06 to 08 April 2023.

India - Sri Lanka Maritime Exercise SLINEX 2023: Participate by
The Indian Navy is being represented by INS Kiltan, an indigenous Kamorta class ASW corvette and INS Savitri, an Offshore Patrol Vessel.
The Sri Lanka Navy is being represented by SLNS Gajabahu and SLNS Sagara. Maritime Patrol Aircraft, helicopters and Special Forces from both sides would also participate in the India - Sri Lanka Maritime Exercise SLINEX 2023.

Inflation in India will further be eased to 5.2% in FY 2023-24: World Bank
According to the latest World Bank report, inflation in India will come down to 5.2% in FY 2023-24 as against 6.6% in the previous financial year.
In its report, the World Bank also projected that the current account deficit of the country will narrow to 2.1% of GDP for the current fiscal year from an estimated 3% in the previous fiscal.
Direct Tax collections for Financial Year 2022-23 register 17.63% growth
The provisional figures of Direct Tax collections for the Financial Year (FY) 2022-23 show that Net collections are at Rs. 16.61 lakh crore, compared to Rs. 14.12 lakh crore in the preceding Financial Year i.e. FY 2021-22, representing an increase of 17.63%.
The Budget Estimates (BE) for Direct Tax revenue in the Union Budget for FY 2022-23 were fixed at Rs.14.20 lakh crore which were revised and the Revised Estimates (RE) were fixed at Rs.16.50 lakh crore. The provisional Direct Tax collections (net of the refunds) have exceeded the BE by 16.97% and RE by 0.69%.
The Gross collection (provisional) of Direct Taxes (before adjusting for refunds) for FY 2022-23 stands at Rs. 19.68 lakh crore showing a growth of 20.33% over the gross collection of Rs.16.36 lakh crore in FY 2021-22.
RBI imposes ₹4 lakh penalty on Shree Chhani Nagarik Sahakari Bank
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of ₹4.00 lakh (Rupees Four Lakh only) on Shree Chhani Nagarik Sahakari Bank Limited, Vadodara, Gujarat for contravention of directions issued by RBI on ‘Board of Directors of Urban Co-operative Banks - Professionalisation and their Role - Do's and Don'ts’, ‘Prudential Norms Income Recognition, Asset Classification, Provisioning and Other Related Matters’, ‘Loans and advances to directors etc.- directors as surety/guarantors- Clarification’, ‘Frauds in UCBs: Changes in Monitoring and Reporting mechanism’ and ‘Master Direction - Know Your Customer (KYC) Direction, 2016’.
1st ministerial-level meeting of India - Netherlands joint working group held in New Delhi
The 1st Ministerial-level meeting of the Joint Working Group between India and the Netherlands was held in New Delhi.
Background
In April 2021 during a virtual meeting between the Prime Ministers of India and the Netherlands ‘Strategic Water Partnership’ was launched.
On 29th March 2022, the ‘Strategic Water Partnership’ was signed by Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister for Jal Shakti and Mark Harbers, Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management.
The Partnership provides the necessary impetus to expand the bilateral water cooperation and is a joint effort of Indian and Netherlands Governments, recognizing the importance of Sustainable Development Goals, water safety, water availability and water quality for wellbeing and sustainable development of the present and future generations.

NASA announces four-member team of astronauts for moon mission
NASA has announced a team of four astronauts who will fly around the Moon next year for a 10-day mission. The team has three American and one Canadian astronaut, including a woman.
Reid Wiseman be the commander while Victor Glover will pilot the mission, Christina Koch and Canada's Jeremy Hansen will serve as mission specialists. Ms Koch and Mr Glover will set history as the first woman and first black person, to go to the vicinity of the Moon.

The second G20 Empowerment Meeting of the Ministry of Women and Child Development has begun in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
The G20 Alliance for the Empowerment and Progression of Women’s Economic Representation (EMPOWER) is an alliance of G20 business leaders and governments that aims to accelerate women’s leadership and empowerment in the private sector. The G20 EMPOWER 2023 under India’s presidency aims to take forward India's women-led development agenda.
The theme of the G20 EMPOWER 2nd Meeting is “Women’s Empowerment: A Win-Win for Equity and Economy”.
Finland become 31st member of NATO
Finland become the 31st member of North Atlantic Treaty Organization NATO. It came after the Turkish Parliament voted in favour of Finland's application to join NATO last week.
