ICC suspends Sri Lanka Cricket Board with immediate effect

ICC suspends Sri Lanka Cricket team: The International Cricket Council (ICC) Board has suspended Sri Lanka Cricket’s membership of the ICC with immediate effect due to government influence‍.

The ICC Board has immediately suspended Sri Lanka Cricket's ICC membership, citing breach of obligations, particularly the need to manage its affairs independently without government interference.

As per the media reports the conditions of the suspension will be decided by the ICC Board in due course.

The ICC Board will meet on November 21 to decide on the specific terms of the suspension of Sri Lanka cricket board, which will provide clarity on the further action.(inp:dd)
