VAdm Vineet McCarty takes over as Commandant, Indian Naval Academy

Vice Admiral Vineet McCarty took over as Commandant of the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, on 15 January 2024.

Prior to taking over as Commandant of the Indian Naval Academy, McCarty was serving as the Flag Officer Commanding, Western Fleet from 15 November 2022 to 09 November 2023.

About Vice Admiral Vineet McCarty 

Vice Admiral Vineet McCarty was commissioned into the Indian Navy on 01 July 1989 and is a graduate of the Defence Service Staff College, Wellington (2005) and National Defence College, New Delhi (2017).

Following promotion to Flag rank on 10 February 2020, VAdm Vineet McCarty took over the duties of Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff (Staff Requirements) at Naval Headquarters, where he was responsible for capability development and formulation of combat policy of the Indian Navy.
