DRDO has successfully tested India's Long Range Glide Bomb (LRGB), GAURAV. The Gaurav bomb was successfully tested with the help of Indian Air Force's fighter jet Sukhoi-30. The glide bomb Gaurav was successfully tested by DRDO off the coast of Odisha.

DRDO successfully test-fires Long Range Glide Bomb GAURAV
Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has conducted the first successful flight test of Long Range Glide Bomb (LRGB), Gaurav from Su-30 MK-I platform of the Indian Air Force (IAF). The test was conducted off the coast of Odisha.
Long Range Glide Bomb GAURAV
Long Range Glide Bomb (LRGB), GAURAV is an air launched 1,000 kg class glide bomb capable of hitting targets at long distance.
After being launched, the glide bomb GAURAV steers towards the target using a highly accurate hybrid navigation scheme with a combination of INS and GPS data.

GAURAV has been designed and developed indigenously by the Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Hyderabad. After designing, Adani Defence and Bharat Forge were given the responsibility of making the bomb.
Flight test of Long Range Glide Bomb GAURAV
Glide Bomb Gaurav hit the target accurately during the flight test conducted by DRDO. During the test launch, the entire flight data was captured by telemetry and electro-optical tracking systems deployed by the Integrated Test Range along the Odisha coastline.

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh complimented DRDO, IAF and industry for the successful flight test of Long Range Glide Bomb GAURAV. He termed it a major milestone in the country’s effort in developing indigenous defence technologies for further strengthening the capability of the Armed Forces.
