Indian Army Participates in Exercise GARUD SHAKTI 2024
A contingent of 25 personnel of the Indian Army departed for Cijantung, Jakarta, Indonesia to participate in the 9th edition of India-Indonesia Joint Special Forces Exercise Garuda Shakti 24.
The 12 days long bilateral military Exercise Garud Shakti will be conducted from 1st to 12th of November 2024.
The India-Indonesia bilateral exercise Garud Shakti will provide an opportunity to both the contingents to strengthen their bond and share best practices. It will also act as a platform to achieve shared security objectives and foster bilateral relations between two friendly nations.

India - Indonesia Contingent in Exercise GARUD SHAKTI
In Exercise Garuda Shakti 24, the Indian contingent is represented by soldiers of the Parachute Regiment (Special Forces), and the Indonesian contingent is represented by 40 soldiers of the Indonesian Special Forces Kopassus.
Aim of Exercise GARUD SHAKTI 24
The aim of Exercise Garud Shakti 24 is to acquaint both the sides with each other’s operating procedures, enhance mutual understanding, cooperation and interoperability between the Special Forces of both armies.

The India-Indonesia Exercise Garud Shakti is designed to develop bilateral military cooperation and strengthen bond between two armies through conduct of discussions and rehearsal of tactical military drills.
Exercise GARUD SHAKTI 24: Drills
The drills of Exercise Garud Shakti 2024 will include planning and execution of special operations, orientation to upgrade skills of special forces, sharing of information on weapons, equipment, innovations, tactics, techniques and procedures.
The Joint Exercise Garuda Shakti 24 will include joint special forces operations in jungle areas, assault on terrorist camps and validation exercises integrating basic and advanced special forces skills, besides exposure to the way of life and culture of the two countries to enhance military cooperation.
