Second India-Russia Strategic Economic Dialogue held in New Delhi

The Second India-Russia Strategic Economic Dialogue (IRSED) was held in New Delhi, under the chairmanship of Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Vice-Chairman, National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog and Mr. TimurMaksimov, Deputy Minister of the Economic Development of the Russian Federation.

The Second meeting of the IRSED focussed on six core areas of cooperation, namely, the Development of Transport Infrastructure and Technologies; Development of Agriculture and Agro-Processing sector; Small and Medium Business support; Digital Transformation and Frontier Technologies; Cooperation in Trade, Banking, Finance, and Industry; and Tourism & Connectivity.

Dialogue included parallel round tables which discussed areas of cooperation and concrete roadmaps for future negotiations across outlined core areas. Participants included government officials, business leaders and experts, bringing in diverse perspectives for ideation.

President Kovind to Visit Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh From July 12 to 15

The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, will visit Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh from July 12 to 15, 2019.

On July 13, 2019, the President will present L.L.D. (Honoris Causa) degrees to Justice (Retd) P. Sathasivam, former Chief Justice of India, and currently Governor of Kerala; Shri Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde, Judge of the Supreme Court of India; and Smt Justice Vijaya Kamlesh Tahilramani, Chief Justice of the Madras High Court, at a special convocation of the Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University in Chennai.

On July 14-15, 2019, the President will visit the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, SHAR, Sriharikota and witness the launch of Chandrayaan-2 lunar mission being undertaken by the Indian Space Research Organisation.
