14th edition of India-Russia Bilateral Naval Exercise INDRA 2025

The 14th edition of the Indian-Russian bilateral naval exercise INDRA has begun in Chennai. Exercise INDRA will be conducted from March 28 to April 2, 2025.

Exercise INDRA, a cornerstone of the enduring maritime partnership between India and Russia. Since its inception in 2003, Exercise INDRA epitomises the long-term strategic relationship between the two Navies.

Aims of Exercise INDRA

Exercise INDRA and Dialogue aims to enhance maritime cooperation, strengthen friendly relations, exchange best operational practices and strengthen diplomatic ties between India and Russia.

The India-Russia Bilateral Naval Exercise INDRA 2025 has evolved into a symbol of maritime cooperation, showcasing the two nations' commitment to enhancing naval interoperability and operational synergy.

The India-Russia naval exercise INDRA 2025 will see participation of Russian Federation Naval Ships Pechanga, Rezkiy and Aldar Tsydenzhapov along with Indian Naval Ships Rana, Kuthar and Maritime patrol aircraft P8l.

Phases of Exercise INDRA 2025

The India and Russia Exercise INDRA 2025 is being conducted in two phases - Harbour phase from 28 to 30 March 25 at Chennai, and Sea phase from 31 March to 02 April 25 in Bay of Bengal.

The Harbour Phase will include Opening ceremony, Subject Matter Expert Exchanges (SMEEs), reciprocal visits, sports fixtures, and pre-sail briefings between personnel from both navies.

The Sea Phase will witness advanced naval drills, including tactical manoeuvres, live weapon firings, anti-air operations, underway replenishment, helicopter cross-deck landings and exchange of sea-riders.
