The 8th edition of India-France Joint Military Exercise Shakti will be held in Camp Larzac, La Cavalerie, France from 18th June 2025 to 1st July 2025. The Exercise Shakti is a biennial training engagement between the Indian and French Armies, aimed at enhancing interoperability, operational coordination, and military to military connection. 8th edition of India-France Joint Military Exercise Shakti 2025

The 8th edition of India-France Joint Military Exercise Shakti will be held in Camp Larzac, La Cavalerie, France from 18th June 2025 to 1st July 2025. The Exercise Shakti-VIII will foster synergy and interoperability in conduct of counter terrorism operations in semi urban terrain.

The Military Exercise Shakti is a biennial training engagement between the Indian and French Armies, aimed at enhancing interoperability, operational coordination, and military to military connection.

India-French Joint Military Exercise Shakti-VIII underscores the growing defence cooperation between India and France and will strengthen strategic ties between the two friendly nations.

Indian Army to participate in Indo-France Joint Military Exercise Shakti 2025

The Indian Army contingent has reached France to participate in the 8th edition of the biennial Indo-France Joint Military Exercise Shakti. The exercise Shakti will be conducted at Camp Larzac, La Cavalerie, France from 18th June 2025 to 1st July 2025.

Indian Army Contingent in Exercise Shakti 2025

The Indian army contingent of 90 personnel to participate in the Indo-French Joint Military Exercise Shakti is represented mainly by a battalion of Jammu and Kashmir Rifles besides personnel from other arms and services.

French Army Contingent in Exercise Shakti 2025

The French Army contingent of 90 personnel to participate in the India-France Joint Military Exercise Shakti 2025 will be represented by personnel from the 13th Foreign Legion Half Brigade (13th DBLE).

Aims of Exercise Shakti 2025

The aim of India-France Military Exercise Shakti 2025 to enhance interoperability, operational coordination, and military-to-military relations between the two armies.

The 8th edition of India-France Joint Military Exercise Shakti will focus on joint operations in a sub-conventional environment under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter, with training being conducted in semi-urban terrain.

The Indo-French Joint Military Exercise Shakti 2025 will provide a platform for both contingents to rehearse and refine tactical drills, share best practices in Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs), train on new generation equipment (contemporary military technologies) and strengthen physical endurance. It will also foster esprit-de-corps, mutual respect and professional camaraderie between the two armies.

Last edition of India-France Military Exercise Shakti

The last (7th) edition of Joint Military Exercise Shakti 2024 between the Indian and French forces was held at the Joint Training Node of the Indian Army in Umroi, Meghalaya from 13th to 26th May 2024.
