32nd edition of India-Singapore Maritime Bilateral Exercise SIMBEX 2025

The 32nd edition of the India-Singapore Maritime Bilateral Exercise SIMBEX kick-starts at Singapore from 28 July to 2 August 2025. The Exercise SIMBEX 2025 aims to enhance interoperability and operational coordination, while reinforcing a shared commitment to maritime security and regional stability in the Indo-Pacific. The India-Singapore Naval Exercise SIMBEX-25 is being conducted in two phases. The first phase is the harbour phase and the second is the sea phase. SIMBEX continues to be a testament to the strong naval ties between India and Singapore, showcasing mutual respect, professionalism and a common vision for a secure and rules-based maritime order.

What is Exercise SIMBEX?

Exercise SIMBEX is a maritime bilateral exercise between the Indian Navy and the Republic of Singapore Navy which is conducted every year.

Exercise SIMBEX, which began as Exercise Lion King in 1994 has since evolved into one of the most significant Bilateral Maritime collaborations between the Indian Navy and the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN).

SIMBEX continues to be a testament to the strong naval ties between India and Singapore, showcasing mutual respect, professionalism and a common vision for a secure and rules-based maritime order.

The 32nd edition of India-Singapore Maritime Bilateral Exercise SIMBEX is being held in Singapore from 28 July to 2 August 2025. The aim of the Exercise SIMBEX-25 is to strengthen India-Singapore maritime cooperation.

Indian Naval Ship Satpura has arrived at Singapore to participate in the Singapore-India Naval Exercise SIMBEX-25, marking yet another chapter in the strong and enduring maritime partnership between the Indian Navy and the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN).

Phases of India-Singapore Exercise SIMBEX 2025

The India-Singapore Bilateral Exercise SIMBEX 2025 will be conducted in two phases - the Harbour phase and the Sea phase.

Harbour Phase of India-Singapore Exercise SIMBEX 2025

The Harbour Phase of India-Singapore Exercise SIMBEX 2025 will include Subject Matter Expert Exchanges (SMEEs), professional interactions, and operational-level discussions. These engagements are designed to share best practices, align doctrines, and conduct deck familiarisation visits onboard participating ships - RSN Vigilant and RSN Supreme.

Sea Phase of India-Singapore Exercise SIMBEX 2025

The Sea Phase of India-Singapore Exercise SIMBEX 2025 the cornerstone of the bilateral maritime engagement - will witness execution of a comprehensive array of advanced naval operations. These include Air defence exercises, Cross-deck helicopter operations, Precision targeting with surface and aerial platforms, Complex maneuvering drills Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure (VBSS) operations.

The last (31st) edition of the Singapore India Maritime Bilateral Exercise SIMBEX was held from 23 to 29 October 2024 at Eastern Naval Command in Visakhapatnam.
