1. Subhash Chandra Garg assumes charge as Secretary, Ministry of Power
  • Senior bureaucrat and former finance secretary Subhash Chandra Garg assumed charge as Secretary, Ministry of Power in New Delhi.
  • Prior to this, he was serving as the Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Finance. He is a Rajasthan cadre IAS officer of 1983 batch.

2. Ministry of mines organises a workshop on Effective utilization of Red Mud
  • The ‘Red Mud’, an interactive workshop called ‘Waste To Wealth’ was organized by the Ministry of Mines in the capital.
  • The present status regarding the generation of Red Mud and its safe disposal and utilization were discussed.
  • The workshop, which was presided over by Dr K. Rajeswara Rao, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Mines,was organised in association with theJawaharlal Nehru Aluminium Research Development and Design Centre (JNARDDC) Nagpur.

3. Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh scheduled to visit Mozambique from July 28-30
  • Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh is scheduled to visit Mozambique in Africa from July 28-30. He will have talks with the President, Defence Minister, Foreign Minister and Interior Minister of Mozambique during the visit.
  • During the visit of Shri Rajnath Singh, three MoUs/Agreements in the fields of exclusive economic zone surveillance, sharing of white shipping information and hydrography would be signed to further strengthen & expand bilateral defence cooperation.

4. Punjab National Bank reports profit of Rs 1,019 crore for June quarter
  • Punjab National Bank (PNB) on Friday reported a profit of Rs 1,018.63 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2019, against loss of Rs 940 crore registered in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

5. BS Yediyurappa appointed CM of Karnataka for the 4th term
  • Karnataka BJP president BS Yediyurappa appointed Chief Minister of Karnataka for the 4th term.
  • Yediyurappa was sworn as Chief Minister for a fourth time by Governor Vajubhai Vala.
