16 State Governments Sign MoU with Textiles Ministry to Impart Skill Training to Workers


Eighteen States have agreed to partner with the Ministry under the scheme out of which Jammu & Kashmir and Odisha were not present during function.

The agencies nominated by the State Governments will train four lakh people. After the training, the candidates will be placed at the textile units.

Union Minister of Textiles and Women and Child Development, Smriti Zubin Irani, said that the signing of MoUs with State Governments shows the commitment of the Ministry to extend its support to the state agency and make them equal partners for building the spirit of national development to boost the textiles sector.

The targets set out by some of the States like Tamil Nadu and Jharkhand are much below the requirement of skilled workers in the textiles industry in those states and urged them to relook at the targets......Read More


Indian Army Team Continues to Lead in 5th Army International Scout Masters Competition 2019 at Jaisalmer


Stage IV of the competition primarily included Timed Reflex Shooting, Breaching of the Mine Field and checking of Close Quarter Battle capability of all the teams under simulated battle field conditions.

After Stage IV Indian Army has taken a comfortable lead in the competition while the team from Uzbekistan is running secondfollowed by the teams of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and China keenly competing for the third to sixth position.

Stage V of the competition is presently underway which shall conclude on 16 August 2019 with a grand Closing Ceremony at Jaisalmer Military Station.

The Army International Scout Masters Competition consisted of five grueling stages which included Infiltration and Ambush Exercise, Scout Specialist Course, Scout Trail Obstacle Course, Small Arms Firing and Exfiltration and Flotation Exercise.

Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat launches Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2019

Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat launched the Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2019 (SSG 2019) in the capital city New Delhi.

Around 700 districts and 17,475 villages will be covered under the survey to be conducted in 34 states and union territories. Around 2,50,000 citizens will be interviewed for their feedback as part of the survey.

The Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2019 Mission is being taken to the next level, by focusing on solid liquid waste management and plastic waste management.

An independent survey agency will conduct the survey in all districts and the results will be announced based on quantitative and qualitative sanitation parameters. With over 5.8 lakh villages, 639 districts, and 32 States/UTs declared Open Defecation Free (ODF) in rural India, the country is well poised to be completely an Open Defecation Free India by October 2, 2019.


Wrestler Deepak Punia becomes Junior World Champion

Indian wrestler Deepak Punia became India's first junior World Champion in 18 years after he claimed a gold medal at the junior worlds with a win over Russia's Alik Shebzukhov at Tallinn, Estonia.
