India-UK workshop on Science for Disaster and Emergency Risk Management


The key objective of the workshop is to share the Indian and UK advice mechanisms and practices for using science and technology in the management of emergencies and disasters.

The selected risk areas of interest to both countries including case studies covering Science for Disaster management, Risk assessment for resilience, Science for epidemic preparedness, Science for extreme weather events, Geophysical hazards including earthquakes and landslides and Civil nuclear safety including modelling of radio logical release will be covered in the two-day dialogue.

Ministry of Civil Aviation launches Aviation Jobs Portal

Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of State (I/C) for Civil Aviation, Housing & Urban Affairs and Minister of State for Commerce & Industry, launched an Aviation Jobs Portal for Aspirants and prospective Employers in New Delhi.

The portal aims to provide a common platform for job seekers to register their job interests across various civil aviation sub-sectors. Prospective Employers, who have completed their KYC under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs MCA-21 database would be eligible to register themselves on the portal.


"Aviation Jobs portal is a unique initiative to harness the growth potential of the aviation sector to contribute to employment and re-employment in skilled aviation jobs in India. Both Candidates and Employers would be able to access a wider choice. Candidates will be able to seek job opportunities matching their profiles. Employers will be able to shortlist those suitable to serve their HR requirements as per their company policy through an online medium.”

Prahlad Singh Patel inaugurates Water Conservation system and Baby care & Feeding Room at Taj Mahal Premises

The Union Minister of State for Culture & Tourism (Independent Charge), Shri Prahlad Singh Patel inaugurated a Water Conservation system and Babycare & Feeding Room at the premises of Taj Mahal in Agra, Uttar Pradesh.
The Union Culture Minister inaugurated the Water Conservation System which in its first turn out about 10000 litre of polluted water coming out of RO System into the old well located in the premises of the heritage site. Prahlad Singh Patel also inaugurated Baby Care and Feeding room in Taj Mahal for the convenience of female tourists.
