Nitin Gadkari inaugurates 16th Global SME Business Summit

Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the 16th Global SME Business Summit 2019 in New Delhi.

The Summit is organized every year by the Ministry of MSME and Confederation of Indian Industries (CII). The theme this year is Making Indian MSMEs Globally Competitive.

The summit was attended by more than 500 delegates from more than 15 countries. Country sessions with South Korea and Saudi Arabia along with a panel discussion on ‘Can MSME’s Contribute 50 percent to Indian’s GDP?’were also organized. Gadkari also released the theme paper of the Summit ‘Making Indian SMEs Globally Competitive.

Dadasaheb Phalke award for Amitabh Bachchan: Government

Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan will be conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke award in this year.

Dadasaheb Phalke award, conferred for “outstanding contribution for the growth and development of Indian cinema” will be presented this year to Amitabh Bachchan.

The news arrived via Twitter by Union minister for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar posted, "The legend Amitabh Bachchan who entertained and inspired for 2 generations has been selected unanimously for #DadaSahebPhalke Award. The entire country and international community is happy. My heartiest congratulations to him."

Amitabh Bachchan has been honoured with the Padma Shri in 1984, the Padma Bhushan in 2001 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2015.

The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is India's highest award in cinema. It is presented annually at the National Film Awards ceremony by the Directorate of Film Festivals, an organisation set up by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

PM Narendra Modi receives Global Goalkeeper Award for Swachh Bharat Mission

Prime Minister Narendra Modi received the 2019 Goalkeepers Global Goals Award for Swachh Bharat programme from Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

This award recognizes the progress India has made in providing safe sanitation under his leadership.

The award from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation was presented to PM Modi by Bill Gates in New York.

Swachh Bharat Mission was launched on October 2, 2014 by PM Modi government. After receiving the Global Goalkeeper Award for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, PM Narendra Modi dedicated this award to the 130 crore Indians who made the initiative a part of their daily lives.

Prahlad Singh Patel inaugurates the exhibition of ITM 2019

Minister of State for Culture and Tourism (Independent Charge), Prahlad Singh Patel inaugurated the exhibition of India Tourism Mart (ITM) 2019 in New Delhi.

The Ministry of Tourism and the Federation of Associations in Indian Tourism and Hospitality (FAITH) have jointly organized this Mart.

Over 240 international delegates from 51 countries and 160 exhibitors from across the country are taking part in the second edition of ITM.

FAITH is the apex organization of important trade and hospitality associations of the country and will drive the event, with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, with the objective of positioning the tourism destinations and products of the country in international source markets.

This is the second edition of the Mart being organized on lines of major international travel marts held annually in countries across the world.

The Mart will provide a platform at the national level for trade and hospitality service providers in the country to interact and conduct business with their counterparts from overseas.

Narendra Singh Tomar launches two agriculture related Mobile Apps

Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Launches two mobile Apps – ‘CHC Farm Machinery and Krishi Kisan App for Geo Tagging’ in New Delhi.

CHC Farm Machinery App, farmers can select and order the required machinery at the rates feasible for them from the Custom Hiring Centers located in the radius of 50 Kms.

The Minister added that till date more than 40,000 custom hiring service centers have registered on this mobile app for renting over 1,20,000 agricultural machineries & equipments.

The Krishi Kisan App will provide farmers the information of best demonstration of high-yielding crops and seeds in their nearby area. Any farmer with high quality of crops can utilise this platform to demonstrate best practices of cultivation to other farmers so that this will help other farmers also to adopt these methods.

The App will also help in geo-tagging and geo-fencing of crop and give weather forecast message to farmers.
