1. UNCCD COP14: India to host COP-14 of UNCCD
  • The 12-day 14th Conference of Parties (COP14) to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) begins at India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida. 
  • The 14th Conference of Parties (COP14) to United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) under the theme “Restore land, Sustain future” at India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida.

2. Overview: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Russia
  • Prime Minister of the Republic of India H.E. Narendra Modi paid an official visit to the Russian Federation on September 4-5, 2019 on the invitation of President of the Russian Federation H.E. Mr Vladimir Putin. The 20th India – Russia Annual Summit was held in Vladivostok. H.E. Mr Narendra Modi also participated in the 5th Eastern Economic Forum as the Chief Guest.

3. Third round of India- Pakistan talks on Kartarpur Sahib Corridor held
  • The third round of talks with Pakistan on the modalities for operationalisation of the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor are held today at Attari, Amritsar. Indian delegation comprised of representatives from the Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Defence, Government of Punjab, Land Ports Authority of India, National Highways Authority of India, in addition to Ministry of Home Affairs.
  • The meeting reviewed the progress reached in the two rounds of Joint Secretary Level meetings and four rounds of Technical Level meetings, held earlier.
