President Ram Nath Kovind Appoints 4 new Governors: The President of India Ram Nath Kovind is pleased to make the following appointments/ changes:-

  1. Satya Pal Malik, Governor of Jammu & Kashmir is transferred and appointed as Governor of Goa.
  2. P.S. Sreedharan Pillai appointed as Governor of Mizoram.
  3. Girish Chandra Murmu  appointed as first Lieutenant Governor of Jammu-Kashmir.
  4. Radha Krishna Mathur appointed as first Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh.


Pramod Kumar Das assumes charge as Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs

Pramod Kumar Das assumed charge as Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs in New Delhi. Prior to this, he was serving as the Special Secretary, Department of Expenditure in the Ministry of Finance.

 Pramod Kumar Das is a Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS officer of 1986 batch.

He has held several other important positions in the Union as well as State Governments. These include Additional Secretary, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, Joint Secretary in DOPT and Ministry of Industry & Commerce at the Centre and Managing Director Trade and Investment Facilitation Corp Ltd. Bhopal and Managing Director State Industrial Dev Corpn Bhopal, Labour Commissioner Labour Department Indore and Commissioner Commercial Taxes Department Indore.

ITIs sign partnership with 719 Private companies over last 6 months

In the six months since its revamp by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), the Dual System of Training (DST) has had a significant impact on the skilling ecosystem by partnering with 719 corporates and private partners for training programs.

This is a huge jump from the 136 MoUs that were signed in the three years prior to the revamp. Interestingly, NSTI Noida alone has signed 37 of the over 700 MoUs in the past few months.

The DSTscheme was introduced in 2016 with the objective of enabling industries and establishments to partner with the Government and Private ITIs for conducting training programmes towards fulfilling skilled manpower requirements.

With this aim, 719 Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) has been signed with the partners for training programs.The DST combines theoretical training from ITIs and practical training from Industry partners thereby strengthening industry linkages and providing hands-on experience to students on industries latest technologies and techniques.



President Ram Nath Kovind to Present National CSR Awards to Select Companies

The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, will present the National Corporate Social Responsibility Awards (NCSRA) to select companies for their outstanding contribution in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on Tuesday, 29th October, 2019 in New Delhi.

The National CSR Awards has been instituted by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to recognize corporate initiatives in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to achieve inclusive growth and inclusive and sustainable development. These awards are the highest recognition in the domain of CSR by the Government of India.
